Discord Book Club discussion

I've heard about this book a lot over the years, but never made time to pick it up. I'm really glad it came around in this month's book club selections because it was finally just the kick I needed to grab it and give it a go. I'm already about 80% in and it's been a really fun read so far; I went into it with this strange preconception that the setting was a medieval environment, but that's not entirely accurate. Perhaps it was the style of the artwork on the cover, but it wasn't a big issue either way and I've been excited to see the mention of newer machines while still enjoying those that rely on magic to operate.

I'm looking forward to finishing this one so I can be able to say I've read it, and hopefully this will be different my other "first book in a series" reads from the past couple years and I'll get around to reading the next one before too long. :)
