Freaking love this book already and I'm not even halfway

I loved this book. It was so easy to read, so enthralling and engaging, and very funny at certain point. Although an extremely well structured and written book I couldn't give it 5 stars because it let me down on a few points.

I thought there could have been a little bit more character development in terms of the characters relationships and friendships with one another. I thought Kizzy and Mia's friendship could have been conflicted in someway to determine their position as best friends. Also it would have been really good to explore this world of magic a little more - I felt the introduction to magic and the whole revelation of the protagonists powers was very brief. If I found out I had powers I would freak the hell out or at least be mad at my parents for lying to me for 16 years! None of this was explored.

I also felt that a lot of the conflicts in the book were resolved too easily, much of the conclusions weren't earned. Finally I didn't enjoy how they were sent to this castle to learn about magic and their powers but weren't actually taught anything...at all. There could have been some exciting development into the magic world and community but there wasn't.

Having said all of that I thoroughly enjoyed this book and it was one of the few romances I thought was necessary for this story to be told. It was exceptional as a debut novel and I hope to continue this series when the next book is released.

I just started this but it took me a while to realize that the main character was a guy XD. I don't know why honestly. The description says it. Oh my gosh. But so far it's really good!

I just finished it last night! I think I may have had a panic attack while reading the end. This book is soooo good! Thank you so much for recommending it! I honestly wouldn't be surprised if it ends up being in my top 10 this year!
