Mixing it Up Readers

Mixed Bag
I only have one. Wish I was close to the end on more series! I don't know why I won't read this last one and close the series off.Postern of Fate by Agatha Christie (Tommy and Tuppence)
If you plan on watching the movie...read Mockingjay first. They change stuff in the movie just to get through it.

I have no excuse other than the last books were released when I was bogged down with reading commitments.

I can't watch a movie and then read the book, which is why I haven't gone to see it yet. I think I may wait for it to come to NetFlix.

Neither can I. I mean, I have but I really prefer not to. This is one movie really worth seeing on the big screen. In fact, we watched the last two on IMax...wow

So did I! *sigh*

I have tons I'd series I started and never returned to. Some, I'm no longer interested in, others I need to get back to. Christine Feehan's Ghostwalkers is one of them, I'm so behind.
I don't think I have many series that I'm straggling behind by a book. Maybe Brockmann's Troubleshooters series. I think I still have to read Izzy's book? I might have to go back a book before that to refresh my memory. Other than that, I'm either in the middle of or starting a series.

You haven't read Izzy's??? It's when I fell for him!

Ah, the last book syndrome...I tend to fall into that trap a lot...I did recently read
. I also read
(Book 10 in Susan Wiggs' Lakeshore Chronicles)a few days ago (not sure if last book but she has not written anything since Dec 2013).
I was thinking I haven't got that far in most of my series. Meaning I have more than 1 left in virtually all of them but I was wrong most of them are trilogies though....Only one left for...

Me, either...just my stragglers for a series that has a defined end. I'm wondering, though, if this book will ever be published.

I feel that way about the last book in Armstrongs and Montgomery's by Maya Banks. She put it off again. I am not sure I will even care by the time she gets around to it

Extremely disappointing. She traded a really good series for mediocre releases that were out of her strength zone, IMHO. I don't have the series on my list for that reason. If she resumes it, I'll commit to the next book and then wait and see.

It is beyond frustrating. I actually think I will have to re-read the other two if she ever gets around to it...
I have TONS of this! Some of them are in series I love that released during my 3-month reading slump and I haven't felt like reading them since. I want to give it a try to books that are definite ends to series.
And I'm not even including the latest in a series that have been released this month or some of which I have the ARCs:

Lol! We were quite surprised when she added that book!

Yes but it is unclear as to when it is being published. Amazon says September 1st but obviously that didn't happen *shrug*

I'm not even convinced it will ever happen. I'd love to put this series on my one remains book list.

But she does say she's working on another historical series. Yay!

I'm feeling she'll never write it, either. When I finish Crystal Cove, I'm declaring the series complete.
As much as I love her books, I find her site organization frustrating. She's loathe to acknowledge her books as a series so she's now added a crawl column showing where certain characters are connected. Really bugs me how publishers push for that so each book can be considered a standalone read. Grrrrr....(just visited her site).

Yeah, I don't like her site setup at all either. I don't think it's really been updated for years. It has the same layout and look as it did at least 2 years ago the last time I went to it.

I saw Banks' 2015 schedule and this series is not on it. At this stage, I'm feeling it's dead so I'm closing out the series. The last book was written in 2013.

I can't believe she has the title and synopsis completely laid out and won't publish it. I will not read another of her books because of this.
Dawn, she's still writing all that bondage and submissive stuff. It's hard to believe she's making money from this given the weak reviews of the current fare.
Breaks my heart because she was a favorite author, now off that list. I'm still hanging in there with KGI, at least for now.

At least she's let her readers know what up with it rather than us having to scratch our heads and wonder.
I am psyched about the new historical series though because she is better at them than the magical realism.

Not a fan of her site either. Far too much pink and not enough actual information on anything.

I don't get it either. Her BDSM books are NOT good. They have virtually no story to them at all - nothing but sex and not even good sex scenes at that!

Lauren wrote: "I am psyched about the new historical series though because she is better at them than the magical realism...."I agree about the magic realism. I liked it, but she definitely hasn't mastered it. And like you, I'm very excited about this new historical series. And I love the Travis series, so I'm also very excited for Brown-Eyed Girl.

I'm thinking I'll either add one book each month or devote a month to clearing out the list. Does anyone else have any series stragglers like this?
