I recommend The Sound of Waves by Yukio Mishima for B1 and The Souls of Black Folk by W.E.B. Du Bois for G5.

* (00000000) For G5, I really enjoyed Meditations by Marcus Aurelius, and I am currently reading and enjoying The Importance of Living by Lin Yutang (which would also qualify as a classic of Asia).
