Teenage years are so tough. I was an introverted teen with no interest in sports or the outdoors...but I LOVED books. I read constantly. One of the first books that I can remember having an impact on me was Robin McKinley's The Blue Sword. It's the story of Harry, a misfit sort of girl who does not fit in but, over the course of the book and with training, finds her power and becomes a hero. I read and reread that book a lot (and it's sequel/prequel, The Blue Sword). It was my introduction to fantasy, romance, and feminism. Just writing this makes me want to check it out and read it again!

What were your favorite novels as a teenager? Have you reread any of them as an adult - and if so, did your view of the book change?
