There seems to be an emphasis on the idea that morality is contingent on activities, on habits. That is, that the man of pure contemplation is degenerate in terms of morality when compared to the man of action. For instance, he writes: "... states of character arise out of like activities."Also, it seems that there is a great emphasis on "activities" plural, not "activity" singular. That is, that a single virtuous act does not make a good man, but rather that continuous repetition of virtuous acts does.
