Well, since I've been to Pike's Peak, I thought it only fitting that I begin my 2015 journey there. This is my first time joining this challenge, and I look forward to seeing what books I can clear off of my TBR pile!

Thanks so much! I'd love to be able to scale all of them by the end of the year. As a geologist, I love the mountain theme, so I'm excited to begin my climb! Thanks for setting up this awesome challenge!
Hi Dani, good luck with your reading climb! Since you're a geologist...do you know of any good related fiction books? I have a family member who is studying to be a geologist (she already has a good rock collection too!). I'd love to get her a book or two that fits. Thanks -Pamela
Hey Pamela! I actually don't know of any, though I'd love to find some. That's so awesome about your family member. It's such an awesome profession, and I've had a number of great opportunities because of it. I'll be on the lookout for some cool fiction reads (for her and myself), and if I find some, I'll definitely let you know! I guess, for me, I'm often drawn to books that take place in the mountains and even historical fiction/archaeology types as well.
Book 1Breakaway from The Dartmouth Cobras Series by Bianca Sommerland
Date Completed: 1/4/15
Source: Kindle
Rating: ★★★
This book was okay. It wasn't my favorite of the series, but I love hockey, so that helped to make the story a bit better.
Dani's Confession:
I've been struggling so far this year with clearing my TBR because I got hooked on a couple of new series that I've unfortunately acquired after the new year began. I'm going to have to try to alternate readings so that I can fit in my TBR reads while still keeping up with the new series. Oh the struggle!
Book 2Lover Reborn from The Black Dagger Brotherhood Series by J.R. Ward
Date Completed: 1/14/15
Source: Audiobook
Rating: ★★★
It wasn't my favorite book of the series, but it was good. I found myself interested in some of the side plots more than that of the main characters.
Book 3Maybe Someday by Colleen Hoover
Date Completed: 1/20/15
Source: Kindle
Rating: ★★★
I honestly didn't get the hype. It was a decent story, and having a deaf male MC was an interesting twist, but the writing was a bit juvenile for me. I felt like I was 16 reading some fanfic on some random site.
Book 4Offside from The Dartmouth Cobras Series by Bianca Sommerland
Date Completed: 1/26/15
Source: Kindle
Rating: ★★★★
I enjoyed this book more than the previous one in the series. Becky's daughter was absolutely precious, and I loved seeing Dean and Luke's relationship with baby Amia. Something about strong, grown men gushing over little babies is so heart-warming. There were a number of different plot lines addressed in this story, and I'm interested to see what happens in the next book.
Book 5Night by Elie Wiesel
Date Completed: 1/29/15
Source: Paperback
Rating: ★★★★★
I'm just going to leave a link to my review here. For such a quick read, this book is so very powerful.
