Jacquelyn (jacquelynreads) | 18790 comments This year we are going to do a survey that will be showcasing some books you read throughout the year of 2014. There are 10 questions.

I understand that the year is not over and you guys still have 2+ weeks to read some books but you can read through the questions and think of some possible answers because some of these questions are tough!

You can make a post and answer the questions you know now. You may do that and then go back and edit the post once the year is over and all of the answers can be answered.

1. How many books did you read this year?

2. What were your favorite books you read this year? You may also include why you loved these books so much.

3. What genre did you read the most of during the year?

4. What was the first book you read this year?

5. What book(s) did you read that had the most gorgeous cover(s)?

6. How many 1-star ratings did you give out?
To Find This: (view spoiler)

7. How many 5-star ratings did you give out?
To Find This: (view spoiler)

8. What was your favorite author that you discovered in 2014? This author must have been a debut author in 2014.

9. What series did you wrap up or read during 2014? You must be done the series and no more books will be published in the series.

10. What were your favorite moments during 2014 that were related to books or Goodreads?

I am looking forward to seeing everyone's answers. Happy New Year!

Miodrag ★❥ | 889 comments 1. How many books did you read this year?
I will finish last book for this year today, so that would make it 184. I have read 184 books. ;)

2. What were your favorite books you read this year?
Uhh so hard, but here are some that I really loved: (Some are not YA, so I hope that's ok)
Divergent (Divergent, #1) by Veronica Roth Insurgent (Divergent, #2) by Veronica Roth Allegiant (Divergent, #3) by Veronica Roth Four A Divergent Story Collection (Divergent, #0.1 - 0.4) by Veronica Roth Hopeless (Hopeless, #1) by Colleen Hoover The Edge of Never (The Edge of Never, #1) by J.A. Redmerski On the Island (On the Island, #1) by Tracey Garvis-Graves Best Kind of Broken (Finding Fate, #1) by Chelsea Fine Perfect Kind of Trouble (Finding Fate, #2) by Chelsea Fine Surviving Elite High (Surviving Elite High, #1) by John H. Ames Senior Year (Surviving Elite High, #2) by John H. Ames Opposition (Lux, #5) by Jennifer L. Armentrout Stepbrother Dearest by Penelope Ward On Dublin Street (On Dublin Street, #1) by Samantha Young Fall from India Place (On Dublin Street, #4) by Samantha Young Making Faces by Amy Harmon Try (Temptation, #1) by Ella Frank Take (Temptation, #2) by Ella Frank Altered (Altered, #1) by Jennifer Rush Erased (Altered, #2) by Jennifer Rush Before You (Sex on the Beach Anthology) by Jenna Bennett The Boys of Summer (Summer, #1) by C.J. And this is not all, I have more! Lol I have read some really good books this year that I loved and some of those I already forgot about... anyway my memory is pretty 'bad' so, nothing new there.
Ok, first Divergent series, wow, that series, I just don't want to think about that ending, I mean really, after reading that book I cried like a baby, and then I even found some songs from Ellie Goulding, especially 'Dead in the Water', and always when I hear that song, it hits me, I remember Tris and Tobias and then that ending, after song ends, I am crying... ahhh I think Divergent series is one rare gem and one of the series that I have read all at once, because I am usually the type of reader (if there is this type anyway Lol) who don't read whole series at once, because I like to give some time after one book, and then get back to sequel and others, because mostly I get bored if I read all books in the series at once... I don't know why, maybe it's a book... or just me.
Anyway, there are some other great books, Like On Dublin street series from Samantha Young, really good series, but here you can find only two books from the series, that's because those two were my favorites and I still need to read 5th book, then there is Finding Fate series from Chelsea Fine, what a great series and I love the author, Perfect Kind of Broken was my first book from this author and first in series and I was shocked... yes shocked as how good it was, it was funny and nice and characters were really good and writing... just brilliant. More, adult series from Ella Frank Temptation, ok I know this is YA group, but I just couldn't miss this series, because characters and everything is just SO good, I have read first two books and now I'm waiting 2015 for third and I think last one... I just need to know how everything ends, I love Logan and Tate. <3 Some more surprises like, Hopeless from Colleen Hoover (be prepared to cry), On the Island (one of the most beautiful love stories that I have read... ahhh I think I need to read this book again XD), Before You (part of the Sex on the Beach Anthology, 3 books from 3 different authors and this one is my favorite, loved the story, loved the characters, author did a good job), Survivng Elite High series (uh-oh, I finished this really fast, both books, I just couldn't stop reading it, another book and story is just WOW, chapter after chapter you just get shocked, and then when you think it's over and everything will be good, another shock happens... I really needed couple of days to calm down especially after the second book, because it had so much happening and so much drama, but it was worth reading, ending.. ahh it was worth it!)... I already said too much, that would be it, I really loved all the books that I have post icons of and I have some more, but I already posted too much. :P

3. What genre did you read the most of during the year?
I really don't know, but I think it would be YA/NA. I mostly read Romance books, I did read some mystery and adult books and adventure too... so I can't excatly pin-point what is the most read, but the closest would be YA/NA/Romance.

4. What was the first book you read this year?
Catching Fire (The Hunger Games, #2) by Suzanne Collins

Divergent (Divergent, #1) by Veronica Roth Insurgent (Divergent, #2) by Veronica Roth Allegiant (Divergent, #3) by Veronica Roth Four A Divergent Story Collection (Divergent, #0.1 - 0.4) by Veronica Roth - <3
The Edge of Never (The Edge of Never, #1) by J.A. Redmerski The Edge of Always (The Edge of Never, #2) by J.A. Redmerski - First book was really something, but then came second and ruined everything... I still think that reading second book was a mistake!

I would recommend this series to everyone!!!
If I Stay (If I Stay, #1) by Gayle Forman Where She Went (If I Stay, #2) by Gayle Forman - Good first book, but sequel was better!

Mehsi 1. How many books did you read this year?
1046! o.0

2. What were your favorite books you read this year? You may also include why you loved these books so much.
I will list 5 favourite books (I got many more favourites, but I will post those on my blog). Most will have reviews so if you want reasons check those!
Falling into Place by Amy Zhang Since You've Been Gone by Morgan Matson Fan Art by Sarah Tregay Silber Het tweede boek der dromen by Kerstin Gier Love and Other Unknown Variables by Shannon Lee Alexander

3. What genre did you read the most of during the year?
No Clue. I don't really count YA as a genre, more as an age group. And I have no clue how to find out what my most read genre is this year.

4. What was the first book you read this year?
Oh dear, let's see. It seems that could be either of these 3 books: Loveless, Volume 10 by Yun Kōga Loveless, Volume 11 by Yun Kōga Nodame Cantabile, Vol. 2 (Nodame Cantabile, #2) by Tomoko Ninomiya

5. What book(s) did you read that had the most gorgeous cover(s)?
Checking my Cover-love shelf, these are a few (there are quite lot) of my fav covers this year: Even in Paradise by Chelsey Philpot 100 Sideways Miles by Andrew Smith Astray (Gated, #2) by Amy Christine Parker Summer Love by Jill Santopolo Apple and Rain by Sarah Crossan A Little Something Different by Sandy Hall Say Her Name by James Dawson Since You've Been Gone by Morgan Matson Open Road Summer by Emery Lord Vuurvogel by Nancy Mostrey It's Kind of a Funny Story by Ned Vizzini

6. How many 1-star ratings did you give out?
Sadly that way you provided doesn't work. GR only shows less than half of my books in that stats thing. So I had to do some extra and do an export and check Excel.
I had a total of 62 1 rates. Which isn't a lot considering I read this many books. Only 5.93%. :)

7. How many 5-star ratings did you give out?
Too bad the stats didn't deliver my ratings correctly *kicks GR*. So once again, Excel saves the day!
I had a total of 295 books rated a 5. Not a lot, but still quite a nice portion of my 1046 books with 28.20%

8. What was your favorite author that you discovered in 2014? This author must have been a debut author in 2014.
Amy Zhang

9. What series did you wrap up or read during 2014? You must be done the series and no more books will be published in the series.
Too many to figure out. I am not really going to check that. I read a lot this year and to find out how much of those books were series and how many of those series I completed. Nope. :) I had already a lot of work to do to figure out my ratings.

10. What were your favorite moments during 2014 that were related to books or Goodreads?
Not much on GR, except for finding a lot more wonderful people, but I made my bookblog in February and I am loving it.

Well that is my year. I can't wait to start with 2015! Here is to another wonderful year filled with happiness, friends and books!
