I'm from the state of Ohio in the US. Fun fact: 24 astronauts are from Ohio including John Glenn and Neil Armstrong!
Southern Ontario Canadaedit. O.o Missed the bit about the comment about it. Ummm we have a good recycling program?
I'm from Pennsylvania. I used to live in a very small town when I was little, now I live outside that small town in the middle of nowhere but I wouldn't trade it for anything. Random PA, info: ummm, we got a famous groundhog, Punxsutawney Phil (I'm only half an hour from Punxsy) and our football team is good (I guess? Not a big fan of football) lol
I was an Air Force brat so I was "made" in France and born in South Carolina in the USA. Now I live in Arizona. :)
I was born and raised in the shadow of the Black Mountains in South Wales, UK, but I now live by the sea in the South East of England, UK. Hoping one day to go live in Alberta, Canada, where my hubby is from and I spent a few months around when we got married.

Okay, I'm from Iowa in the good ole USA. I actually wrote up a little fun fact sheet about the places I'm from and my fave places in Iowa for an art swap I was doing last summer, so I'm referencing that :)
Iowa in general is big in agriculture, specifically corn, hogs, soybeans, cattle, and poultry. So that is reflected in some of this!
I'm send you things from several different towns, all which have some sort of meaning for me.
Des Moines, IA
Des Moines is the state capitol. I've never lived here, but its close to where I live, so we go there a lot for all kinds of things—The Science Center, Icubs games (baseball) Iowa Energy games (basketball), Adventureland (amusement park), the Iowa State Fair (HUGE thing around here!) The Civic Center (musicals and concerts) Wells Fargo Arena (sports and concerts), as well as visiting the malls for back to school deals and visiting friends :)
Marion, IA
This is where I grew up. I lived her until I was 14. My grandparents lived just down the road (they have passed away in the last few years) Its a big suburb of Cedar Rapids. Cedar Rapids is known for Grant Wood (he grew up there) and has an art museum dedicated to him.
Boone IA
This is where I've lived since I started dating my husband, so I lived there about 17 years I think! I love this town! Its an old railroad town, as you can tell by the memorabilia, and known for that and the dirt track races that happen every summer. Its also the town where Mamie Eisenhower was born, and one of the main roads is named for her.
*NOTE* Its biggest claim to fame is the Kate Shelley High Bridge, named after the heroine. Here's a link to the story if you don't know it.

Radcliffe IA
I don't think I sent you anything from here, but this is where I live now. I've lived here about a year. Its a super small rural town!
*NOTE* recently moved back to Boone, so no longer live here*
Iowa Falls, IA
This is a beautiful town, and the nearest bigger town to where I now live. It has a beautiful river with small cliffs and waterfalls. Really pretty town!
Winterset, IA
This is my favorite Iowa town. Its gotten its fame from the “7 Bridges of Madison County” and then the book that Robert James Waller wrote, The Bridges of Madison County. The book isn't that great, but I did like the movie! Its a BEAUTIFUL town, the houses are old and grand and kept up really nice, it has a beautiful town square with courthouse, a really pretty town park, and of course, the bridges—there are 2 in town, the remaining are out in the country. Its also the quilting capitol of Iowa, with Fons and Porters being located downtown.
Every year, they have a town celebration, called The Bridges Festival. Its in October, when all the trees have turned color, and it makes the town and area even prettier! We go every year :)
Story City, IA
This was where I went to and graduated high school, had my first job, met and married my hubby, and I now work here again! I am from the Doolittle clan, and am related to every Doolittle in the area, I even work with a few cousins! (There are a TON of Doolittles, they were one of the founding families of the town). Story City is small, but very rich, with quite a few landmarks for such a small town.
Here's a fun list of 50 facts about Iowa. The towns above are mentioned a few times :)

I'm from California but that is going to change in about 9 months because I'm going to college in Ireland :D
Hi everyone!I'm Daniel and I'm proudly from Toronto, Canada.
A couple of things about Toronto... Well, Toronto is the biggest city in Canada, and has over 6 million people living in its metropolitan area.
There's lots of stuff to do here- we have tons of sports teams, historical neighbourhoods, cultural centers, lots of tourist attractions (CN tower, Ripley's Aquarium, the Royal Ontario Museum, the Art Gallery of Toronto, the Ontario Science Center, Canada's Wonderland, etc.), and some nice parks and recreation centers.
As far as navigation goes, it's incredibly easy. The roads more or less just make perpendicular squares that make big blocks throughout the city. It's not hard to find your way around, even though it is a big city.

@Killian Well i'd definitely be meeting new people because I really only know like one person xD but I can see why you are leaning towards Trinity. I hope everything works out for you!

Toronto isn't too far from me actually! I think about a 12 hour drive? Which is closer than Denver, which is a common destination in our family! I would love to visit sometime (in the summer!!)

LOL--that would be driving through part of the US--Iowa, Illinois, Michigan--into Canada. The US is HUGE. I just looked it up, its a 40 hour drive from NYC to L.A. That doesn't include Hawaii and Alaska! From Olympia, WA to Juneau, Alaska, the drive time is 42 hours. And of course, you can't drive to Hawaii, but its even further.
Just for fun, I looked it up--Ireland is 32,595 sq miles, while Iowa--the state I live in--is 56,272 sq miles. So if that helps you compare a little. Iowa is not even a very big state, it is one of the smaller ones.

lol.
I've been on numerous road trips to the US (Chicago, New York, Boston, Washington) and there are days when we drove for 12 hours. You just figure out stuff to do in the car. I usually take my phone and play games, or listen to music, or sleep. On long school trips, we just play Mafia, and the time flies. lol

You should Jenny, there's tons to do here.
I'm from Aurora Missouri. I know I've heard fun facts about here but I can't think of any lol so I'm going to say we're a town of about 7000 and home to the Houn Dawgs.Go DAWGS!!

Oh, you haven't heard of Mafia?
Well, it's a party game. You sit around, and depending on the number of people playing, a couple of Mafia and a doctor are picked by the game organizer. There are other roles that you can play with too. Every night with everyone's heads down, the Mafia kills one person/townie secretly. Every night, the doctor selects one person to save. The next day the organizer reveals who died/if anybody died. The players discuss who the Mafia might be, then they kill one person off by vote, hopefully killing a Mafia member. The game ends if either all the Mafia members are killed or if the Mafia win by killing all the townies. It's basically a strategy/lying game.

We used to play a similar game called Murder handshake. Everyone walks around shaking hands but the murderer, when he shakes hands with others, tickles the other person's hand with his/her middle finger. The victim keeps walking, counts to 5 and collapses. The detective has to figure out who it is. It's a good game.
And yes, to play Mafia, you have to have really intelligent players who are capable of strategizing and lying well. It's not for everyone.
Yes, it's really entertaining. If ever you find yourself with a crowd with whom you think the game will work, give it a try!

It's about 6.5 hours for me in Central Ohio.

Daniel,Killian: I have played different varieties of mafia too. Both in school and in drama.(I went to a drama Club for nearly 10 years).
Jenny: Its similar here in norway, if you drive 12 hours you get far. Depending on where you are in the country off course, but 12 hours driving will mostly take you to another county at least.
Fact: it takes 3-4 days to drive from the North of norway to the South.

I love mafia! Great game! Do you play with two people secretly being police too? That's how we always did it, and it was their job to try to guess at who's the mafia. You have to have one person who runs the show and decides who wins :)
