Donna | 67 comments I'm at 70% reading Cold Blooded and I still haven't zeroed in on the killer. As in her first book, Hot Blooded, she introduces several characters who are damaged, resentful, or have had life problems that could motivate them to go off the rails. So the reader is given several choices for the killer. Keeps you guessing until the end. She is a bit long winded, though, and I find that some parts drag on a bit. Perhaps some better editing would help?

Interesting, Donna. Did you like Hot Blooded better, do you think? I haven't read either of them yet so I can't judge.

Kris (My Novelesque Life) (mynovelesquelife) | 12 comments That's my only real issue with Lisa Jackson's books - way too much detail! She's good with suspense but it seems like her editor let's her down.

That's too bad. She's on my list of authors to read.

Kris (My Novelesque Life) (mynovelesquelife) | 12 comments I like listening to her on audio as the details don't seem as much as when you read them. Or at least to me lol.

Donna | 67 comments Just finished reading Cold Blooded. I gave it 3 stars, compared to 4 stars for Hot Blooded. It was suspenseful and good, but I liked the first book better. My review is here: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

I am almost finished and am agreeing with you totally.

I personally would like a few more clues - as you said she introduces several potential suspects...half the fun for me is working out the crim and being able to pat myself on the back when I am right. Being told it was so and so two chapters from the end doesn't appeal as much.

Donna | 67 comments I agree -- I like to try to figure out the mystery too. Can't do this if she doesn't sprinkle in a few clues here and there. I'm wondering what her Savannah series is like. Has anyone read any of those? Is it similar to the New Orleans series?
