Jane (PS) | 24459 comments 1. Introduce yourself to your team. Let your team members know where you are from. This is a great to know when themes are announced and when team-mates can expect other members to post their book choices.

2. Chief - reserve a couple of posts in this thread tracking your team's book selection and completion. (Alternatively they could convert a chat comment to the tracking post/s.)

3. Name your team. Using this round's theme of the Weather, come up with a team name. We are an open/public group with no age limit, so please make sure any chosen name is smart, not smutty ;)

Please PM your name to Jane(PS) by early Thursday 27 February.

4. If you have a private profile, please 'friend' your team-mates. This is really important, because without this, your team-mates can't see your shelves to select a books under option 2.

5. Please post your book selections/completions in the format provided below. (This format is also posted in both the Q&A and Sign-Up threads.) We need to know the week that each book corresponds to, the page numbers, and how the book qualifies including names to lists/shelves (where applicable), etc. I can't stress this enough. When in doubt - link it*!

* don't link to your review in your completion post - reviews in your completion posts should be included in full within that post.

You don't want to start reading a book and then find it doesn't meet the requirements because some information (eg page count or theme link) was missing from your original post.

I will be monitoring this and your book will not be considered complete until I am satisfied that your selection and completion posts comply with the format rules of the challenge.

Remember - you can ONLY change your book selection in the week that the theme is called.

6. You MUST check in with your team each week, ideally once the theme is announced. Please let your team know if you expect to have spotty communication or are on holidays or having an operation.

7. When you post the completion of your book, you must post a review; enough for us to know you have actually read the book. Please don't link to a review. You must post the review in this thread.

8. Re-reads are allowed but you can't read the same book twice within this challenge.

9. There is no prize for the winning team - bragging rights only :)

10. Each week, the theme will be announced in the Q&A Annoucement thread. The full list of themes announced during this round will be maintained in msg 1 of that thread.

The Rule on the Pass Option
* Each team can only have ONE member using their pass each week.
* Each member can only use that pass once each 5 weeks.
* This means that one or two team members (dependent upon the size of your team) will miss using a pass in each 5 week block.
* No-one can use the pass option in the last week of the challenge.
* In the final week if Option 2 is used, members must select their book from another team. This will be advised in the week 11 announcement.

Jane (PS) | 24459 comments Key selection and completion post information. You must have ALL elements in your book posts.

The format for selection posts Option 1:
Week #
Bookcover/link
Page numbers
How the book qualifies - please link or name the qualifying bookshelf/list where applicable (link if possible).
If the theme is based off the bookcover or a letter in the title etc, please just repeat the theme.

The format for selection posts Option 2:
Week #
Bookcover/link
Page numbers
Name of the team-member, their star rating, the date they read the book.

Format for completion posts:
Week #
Bookcover/link
Rating (1-5)
Review

Please DO NOT CHAT in these selection/completion posts. It needs to be super clear.

If you 'waffle' about your decided book - please REPOST your selection once you decide. DO NOT go back and edit your waffling post.

Jane (PS) | 24459 comments I'll track each team's progress separately, using the Captain's summary in each team's thread to check for accuracy.

Diane Dannenfeldt | 816 comments Hey guys, welcome to another round of PTP. This is my first time as captain so bear with me while I find my legs. My name is Diane (obviously) and I live in Northeast Ohio with my husband of 34 years. I am a mother of 2 daughters and a grandmother of 2 grandsons. I am a furry mommy to a spoiled female cat named Angel (who is laying on my shoulder as I type this). And a furry grandmother to a male name Skyler. I love to read and listen to audio books. During the day I listen to books and when I get home from work I read. I love the mm genre, but I will read most anything except historical, not a fan of having to hide your love. I also don't really care for ya as I don't want my MC's to still be in high school. There are always exception to those rules though.

Anyway, first order of business is please introduce yourselves. And then the second order of business is we have to come up with a name. I am really horrible at this so I am counting on y'all to help out in that area. It has to be weather related so get to brain storming, see what I did there ;).

So some names that popped into my head are:

Storm readers
Snow day readers
Sunny day romancers
Rainy Monday romance
Cloudy with a dash of romance

And the final piece of business, lets have some fun & see if we can all find some new reads!

Cathy M. (mccathy77) | 152 comments Hi everyone! This will be my 1st time playing but it looks pretty straight forward so don't think I'll be too lost 😆 And I love the name Cloudy with a Dash of Romance!

I'm an Office Manager in a law firm in LA so am around some during the day but am around mostly at night. I do have a trip coming up end of March/beginning of April but other than that should have no problem meeting any deadlines.

I mostly read UF and romance but do end up reading almost all genres based on the current challenges/games. Gotta do what I can for the team ha!

Let the fun begin! Look forward to playing with all of you!

message 15: by LaurLa (new)

LaurLa | 5170 comments Hi All - this is my 5th or 6th or I don't know how many times... but it's always fun, so I'm glad to be back!

I live in the Indianapolis area in Indiana and am a project manager for the marketing department of an accounting/consulting firm. I'm married with 2 (almost) grown sons, 19 and 24. Not quite an empty nester, but it already feels like it with one away at school and the other out doing his own thing.

I read all forms of romance but shy away from YA - just not a fan of those years!

I like Cloudy with a Dash of Romance too.

Logan (loganturner) | 961 comments Hi team! So excited for a new PtP!

I’m Logan and I live in Orlando with my husband and our new puppy Lucy. I’m an insurance claims analyst so like Cathy I’m not usually around much during the day.

I am almost entirely a Kindle reader and last week I decided to trade-in my trusty Paperwhite and mailed it in so I could get my discount to upgrade to the Oasis...but it’s on backorder and not scheduled to ship til the end of March. Sooooo I’m adjusting lol. It feels so weird to not have my Kindle handy. But I have a huge stack of unread books at home and access through my Kindle phone app so it’s not really a big deal it only feels like it is haha!

Oh and I love the name Cloudy with a Chance of Romance!

bamaace83 | 1288 comments Hey everyone, I'm Anna. I've played PTP a few times in the past and I recognize a few faces from the reading world. :) I live in Louisville, Ky. I'm married and we have one dog. I work in the healthcare field and we are about to do a massive computer change Monday to a new operating system. I just hope it's not too stressful and it doesn't interfere too much with my books. I'm usually on sometimes during the day but always at night.

I like the Cloudy with a Dash/Chance of Romance. :)

I'm happily married and a mum of three adult kids, two of them still living at home. I'm from Germany, so when Jane announces the new categories it'll be already late evening, maybe even midnight for me.
Since around five years I've been reading exclusively mm romance, enjoying a mix of contemporary, crime/mystery and some paranormal books and trying to avoid ya and historical ones.
I have played several rounds of PtP but the last time was in round 10.

I like the name Cloudy with a Dash/Chance of Romance too.

Looking forward to playing this round with all of you! :)

Review: This is book two of the series and even though it can been read as a stand-alone, I think it would be more enjoyable if you read the first book. You get more of the pack dynamics and Varcik was rescued at the end of that book. He was being kept captive but a nut job of a veterinarian. Anyway, we find him as the beta of the pack, turns out he is actually a war beta which is very close to an alpha. Their pack receives and invitation to Romania to meet with the head of all the wolves. While there, Varcik finds something wondrous, a second chance at a life with a mate. His first mate was killed by his former pack and he was left for dead when the nut job found him. Luca is also not stranger to heartbreak as his wife had died a few years ago. Even though she was his mate, he loved her with all his heart. I loved seeing these two get their second chance at an HEA. But it’s not all rainbows and unicorns, someone is out to kill the alphas and there is a race to find out who is behind it before it’s too late. Even though I had that portion figured out pretty early on, I still enjoyed the book.

Review:
I didn't think I would like this as much as I did because let's be honest, the fake boyfriend trope isn't exactly unique. But it turned out to be a light-hearted and sweet romance, filled with a lot of laughs and some sexy times.

I thought Maddox would be a douchey a-hole, especially with all the manwhore comments and the reason for him needing the fake boyfriend, but he was incredibly endearing and so funny. I thought he took it all a little too well (figuring out he was not quite straight) and a little fast (wanting to commit) but it didn't lessen my enjoyment of the story. Damon took a little longer to like, and I can't say that I loved him as much, but I did enjoy the way their relationship evolved.

Review:
This was a good wind up of the series. The MCs were only loosely related to the previous books, but that wasn't a problem for me. The storyline was a bit twisty but in the end it all made sense. The MCs were both so wrapped up in their own insecurities and issues, making assumptions about the other's feelings, while a predictable trope, it was still gratifying to see how they both were able to open up and overcome that and see the other as they really are. It was also sweet that one supporting character, a cranky yet a big old softie landlady, also got her happy ending in this one.

Review:
This book was a London version of a Fifty Shades type book. At first, I wasn't so sure if I was going to like bad boy Theo. I really liked Izzy but I also wanted to know more about her past and I felt bad for her at work. I really enjoyed getting to watch the story line develop between Izzy and Theo. Both characters have major secrets from the past that came into the story at random times. I was a little ticked at first that Theo popped in on a girls vacation to Vegas but then I understand later it was just who he was. I really liked the book and I also liked that the story wasn't dragged into like 3-4 books like other series. We had a nice little epilogue that tied the story together and then it was complete.

Review:
I didn't read any reviews before starting this book but I noticed some of my friend's ratings and knew this seemed to be one of those love it or hate it books.
So when I started reading Solo and Panther's story I was really happy to find that I enjoyed it immensely. I liked both main characters and also the secondary characters were interesting. The setting, fighter pilots who were chosen to train and compete at a prestigious naval aviation academy, was captivating. I could feel the rush, excitement and adrenaline when they started their engines, roared down the runway and took off into the sky.
Unfortunately, getting near the middle of the book, I started to get annoyed with Solo. What was great in the beginning, reading about this aggressive, testosterone driven guy who just didn't know when to stop, did suddenly make me feel uncomfortable. Same thing when they were doing the motorcycle racing, Solo and Panther both were just driving too reckless for my liking.
And then the story ends with a cliffhanger!

At the moment I'm really torn wether I should give the next part of this series a chance. Luckily for me, these books are available with Kindle Unlimited. Cause let's be honest, if I had paid for this book (4,49€/184 pages) I would be furious now with this marketing model.
