Lana I have challenged myself to read five German books this year, but I definitely have nothing against trying to read even more than that.

I'm trying not to buy too many books this year, so first I browsed through the recommendations section and then checked which one of the books mentioned there are available on Scribd (my focus being mostly on female authors, since it is a shame that I've only read male German authors so far).
These are the ones that have caught my eye:
German Women Writers of the Twentieth Century
The Mussel Feast
Baba Dunja's Last Love
So, those are three in an e-book format.
I'm also interested in reading Visitation, but it's only available in audio format, I'll see first if an audio of this one works for me, if not, I might just buy this or some other book by Jenny Erpenbeck.
And the fifth book will probably be a re-read of Death in Venice, since Thomas Mann is my favorite German author.

Lana Hi, Jenni! I hope I'll enjoy it too. I think I'll start with German Women Writers, maybe read one or two stories per day, and then Baba Dunja's Last Love after that.
