Introduce yourself
Hi, I'm Melissa. New to Booktube and re-acquainting myself with books after a bit of a reading hiatus. I enjoy historical fiction, books written in the 20's and 30's, and books with elements of fairy tale and folklore. I also love middle grade and am woefully under-read in the classics department. My TBR is a bit embarrassing so when I saw this group, I was pretty excited to join and prioritize clearing out some of these books!
Hi i´m Elisa and i am portuguese.I love classics, historical fiction, and books that pull at the heart strings!
I have a Booktube channel but it´s on a hiatus at the moment, because of not having time to film and edit. Will return at some point, but not in the forseable future.
Fot this challenge i have a ton of books!
Hi I'm Keeley from Abibliophilesjourney over on booktube. I read a lot of stuff! Lately I've been enjoying middle grade and classics. But my ultimate loves are horror and nonfiction.
Ugh Katie you're the best, I totally need this readathon as my TBR has gone waay out of control! Anyway I'm Floor from The Netherlands, You can find me at my channel Crazy Booklady. My reading taste is a bit all over the place right now really, so maybe my taste will get more specific over time or maybe not, that's fine too.
Hi, I am Anja from Germany.Over the last couple of years I have tried to reduce the number of books on my shelves (from approx. 4K to 1.5K). Among those that remained are more than a hundred that I never read. So, I have my work cut out for me. :-DDD
Hullo I’m Maki, I don’t have anything over at booktube but I enjoy 😉 watching videos.
I feel overwhelmed by too many unread books on my shelf and this is the reason why I joined. Thanks for inviting me. 🙇♀️
I usually read modern classics but I try to explore today’s contemporary(from all countries!) a little more.
Good luck everyone ~~(=´∀`)
I am Kat… luv reading! I am on Instagram but not booktube but avid watcher of videos, especially Katie’s!! I like most genres but not a fan of mysteries or thrillers or beach reads. Luv the classics & historicsl fiction …& multi-generational sagas and all long books, the bigger the better! I have a very massive TBR library!!
Hi I'm Julie my favorite type of books are romance, historical fiction, 20th century classics especially from Virago and Furrowed Middlebrow, graphic novels, and historical nonfiction and memoirs. I've been trying to focus on whittling my physical TBR for a while now but failing miserably so hopefully being in a group will motivate me.
Hi! I’m Jennifer! I have a channel on BookTube called I Never Promised You A Prose Garden. I enjoy sci-fi, some fantasy, general fiction and the occasional romance.
I have over a hundred unread physical books and even more unread ebooks.
Hi everyone, I am Gemma (my BookTube chanel is Read A Book Gem). I am excited to join you all in this readathon. I love reading historical fiction, women's fiction, classics, contemporary fiction and trying many more genres in between! I have a lot of books on my TBR and am hoping to make a good dent in those in April.
Hey, I'm Kailey. I'm a piano teacher, and I work in an office as well. I read a lot of classics, children's and MG lit, and tons of fantasy. My YouTube channel is Books for MKs. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC8zV...
Hi I am Lisa, joining in from Ireland. I need this challenge so bad! I was trying to use the library more and then I just completely abandoned reading any owned books, and I have books I own, un-read, for more than five years! Starting April first I am going to start with the shortest books I own (unread) and try just plough through a bunch of books to make the sheer number less embarassing!!!
Hi, I'm Sarah and read through variety of genres. But my favourites include historical, fairytale retellings and horror.
Hello Friends, Im Bree and I read romance, memoirs, and poetry..but mostly romance. I talk about books over on Booktube @ Bree Hill and on Instagram at Falling4Romance. I have so many books on my tbr but I think for the readathon Id really like to focus on getting some series finished that I've started and haven't finished.
Hello! I'm Malin from Sweden and I read basically everything but mainly literary fiction, fantasy and classics. I work in a bookstore which results in buying way too many books/recieving arcs hahah ^o^'
Hey, I'm Steve and I write books...and I read books. Mostly, I dive into nonfiction: social issues, political history, philosophy, layman sciences, forensics, and irreligion.
Hi, I'm Lorna. I love this challenge so much - it combines my love of minimizing and reading. I have a very tightly curated bookshelf but it has been a couple of years since I reflected on the books that are there. I enjoy Trollope, Dickens, folk tales and magical realism. I also read books on Buddhism. I love to pass on dormant books to give them another chance at life!
Hello, Katie... Thanks so much for this invite! My TBR definitely could use some love... So, I look forward to spending some quality time with that stack in April! And a warm hello to everyone in the #TBRClearOut Group! ✨😎✨I'm Denise with This Is My Everybody ... And a booktube newbie! This will be my first readathon! Yay!... I love a diverse range of books. Always "on the hunt" for an amazing story to bring to life in my life & home... https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCpSC...
Hey, everyone! I'm Merry, a terrible mood reader who will pick up almost anything (except full-blown romance and thrillers, I guess?), but never two similar books after one another. Recently, I've mostly been drawn to classics, literary fiction, historiographical metafiction, poetry, and nature writing, but that is by no means an exhaustive or exclusive list. I've been working on reducing my physical TBR for a couple of years now, but since it is mostly made up of (German) classics (a leftover from my literature degrees), it is slow going. (I tend to read newer books/non-fiction/poetry within a couple of months of buying them). I'm not on booktube, but I do have a blog and an instagram. (Link in my profile / @letters.from.the.lighthouse)
Hi I'm Samantha! I am in so need of this challenge because my TBR has just built up so fast and I really need to get on that so thank you for creating this Katie!
Although I'm not on booktube anymore I still do have my blog called ABookHaven And I read all most everything! But I think for the main thing from this challenge is getting that negalley TBR down!
Hi I'm Summer from Summer's Moving Bookshelf and I'm in dire need of this readathon! I came into the year with about 17 books on my physical TBR and am currently at 15-16 (whomp whomp). Next to no progress. I just haven't been motivated to pick up the books on my bookshelf because they're mostly behemoths, but I will force myself to get through at least a couple of them in April! Probably War and Peace and Count of Monte Cristo. Here's a link to my channel if you feel inclined to check it out. I like to read a little bit of everything, but I also have particular tastes? Don't know how that works.

Hi! I am Lilian joining in from Kenya. I have been thinking a lot about simplifying my life and the concept of jobs to be done-having pending things around your home/life, means that you subconsciously have some jobs to be done. Hence, my reading life has began to feel like a chore and doesn't spark joy ;-). Enter the #TBRClearoutI love historical fiction, history, non-fiction ( business, memoirs, pop psychology), middle-grade and a bit of romance. I tend to read a lot based on my mood and current interests (read: obsessions); so lately I have been reading about climate change, sustainability, China and South Korea.
I am currently online on IG (@ readmaterial) and occasionally update my blog Kerry's Blog.
Hello, I’m kylie and I joined after seeing Katie’s video on YouTube. I have bought a lot of new books on the past year but tend to listen to a lot of audio books, so my physical books are stacking up and could do with some love! I’d like to try and get through a few more of them this year and thought the readathon might help me get started. I read all sorts of things depending on what catches my eye. Looking forward to joining in with you all :)
Hi everyone! I'm Masanobu and live in the UK. Although I used to blog and kept a Twitter account under @everyprettybook, I've only been consistently posting here in GR for the last couple of years. I discovered this readathon through a GR friend and it sounded right up my alley. At the moment, I have 90 books on my physical TBR and considering I read about 45 books a year, it'd take me 2 years if I only read from it, which actually rarely happens. Here's hoping that TBRClearOut will give me the push I need to improve this situation!
Hello, I am Jan, avid quilter & reader. Being older than many of you, and have a lifelong collection of books from, mainly, library book sales. Diving in is always a pleasure, but new books are just so much fun that the tbr shelves are sadly neglected.
Hi, I'm Kitty. I study English Literature at university, meaning I have neglected some of my other books on the TBR pile. I'm hoping that this challenge will mean I'm more likely to engage with books that I don't have to study!
Hi, I'm Iza, a librarian from Paris, France. This challenge is definitely welcome ! I practically cleaned my e-reader the last couple of years but my physical shelves do need my attention. I have 190+ books on them and could use the space.
I'm reading mostly classics nowadays, but also historical novels, mysteries/thrillers, British literature, Irish literature, contemporary or not, and I have created a blog early this year so that I could control the books I read and refrain from buying or adopting many others (it has worked a little but might work better !).
Hello all, I'm Cynthia, joining in from California, USA. My TBR mostly consists of books given to me by other people. It seems like when people know you read a lot they give you more books to read, then I feel guilty for having them so long on my shelf without having read them.
Hi! I'm Helen from BC, Canada. I read from variety of genres with fantasy, urban fantasy, historical and classics as the most common with a smattering of sci-fi and non-fiction. I'm also participating the Magical Readathon in the month of April so I'm trying to fit those prompts to books I've had for years.
Hi all! I'm Bella from Jakarta, Indonesia. I love reading classic, science fiction and literary fiction. However, I want to expand my reading materials to non-fiction such as media studies and philosophy. I'm not on YouTube yet, but I do review on instagram (@bookcabinets). My TBR list is enormous since I'm a book hoarder. I hope I will read my unread books in joining this challenge!
Hi I’m Lydia, newly moved from Denver ,CO USA to Baltimore, MDI’ve been working towards moving that TBR number down for a bit so this is a great place to talk with others trying to get through some numbers! I recently did the math and at my reading rate I have 9 years of books on there so I’m feeling the need to both read through some AND probably do a clean out of some that no longer appeal. Looking forward to TBR friends!
Hi there, Katie Lumsden and all you other folks within this group!I am Ross Eberle. You may be wondering: "Ross, who?" Well, don't fret, my friends and acquaintances. Ray Eberle is my grandfather. You can find an article about him on Wikipedia over here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ray_Eberle
I am actually more of a writer than a singer. I've written and self-published 6 distinct works in my series, named Sky Fighters and Houndy Crunchers! If you have any questions about it or me, just ask and I'll answer as much as I can...In the meantime, if you're interested in reading and voting on any free samples of my works, please head over to: https://www.wattpad.com/user/RossEberle ...Cheers!
P.S. My favorite reading genres include most fiction stories, including wilderness-survival, fantasy, and science-fiction. Though, I'm open to reading just about anything.
Hello, I'm Aku and I'm an addict. Reading has been a lifelong habit and I hope it continues. I'm here because Katie invited me, and thank you Katie, because I need this! My TBR requires taming. I'm also looking forward to checking out all the booktube accounts mentioned in this thread. I enjoy most kinds of fiction though my heart beats a little faster for sci-fi, magical realism and classics. I love both Jane Austen and Isaac Asimov, just don't ask me to choose.
I'm about to publish my own work for the first time. Grateful that life has given me the time and opportunity. It's a dream come true. If you're curious, please see www.toomuchuniverse.com
I also have a lot of fun on insta. Happy to connect. @akusingh
April is going to be lit!(-erature-heavy).
Hi I'm Anna Mary and I have a wide and varied taste in books. Therefore I have a large TBR which I hope to make a dent in! Thank you for inviting me to participate in this readathon.
Cool, the power of inertia! Thank you Katie for the invitation.Hi everyone, my name is Haifeng. I am from Canada.
This TBR Clear Out Readathon is super timely for me for two main reasons: 1. I have a lot of unread books that I want to read, 2. with the current situation of COVID19 around the world, there is more time to stay indoor to read.
I read mostly classical literature and philosophy books.
hi my name is Susan. i have so many TBR's to choose from as i am a book hoarder. what i read depends on my mood and i will physically read one genre and listen to an audiobook of a different genre. historical fiction around ww2, real history on ww2 and the Tudor era. horror, animals, freethought to name a few. havent decided yet what to read
Hello! Thank you for invite! I'm Margaret from Arizona. Book Lover! Book Collector. History Buff! Mostly read Historical Fiction, Mysteries, Classics and History.
Hello everyone! I'm Jennifer from Denver, Colorado. I haven't decided what to read for the readathon, but very excited to be taking part. Thanks!
Hello Everyone! I'm Elif, the bookstagrammer of @gokyuzunekarsihayaller . Joining from İstanbul, Turkey :) I've just seen the group in Katie (Books And Things)'s video. So I'm feeling lucky to be taking part!
Hi everyone I’m Susannah. I have loads of unread books somewhere between 500-600. Have no idea what I am going to read for this yet but love the idea. I like classics, literary fiction and prize winning or nominated books.
Hello, my name is Zaquira but you can call me z. I don’t have much books that I haven’t read since I don’t buy much. I’m Pennsylvania, USA and I’m a hobbyist due to all my hobbies and interests. Can’t wait to see what I pick to read for this. Also maybe I could get a buddy read. I’m very happy since it’s been a while since I read anything.
Hello everyone, I'm Dila from Turkey. I buy and read whatever seems interesting to me at the time which is how I end up with a lot of unfinished books. Thank you Katie for the invite, the timing is just incredible. Hopefully, I can reduce some of my TBR this month. (Time to choose and make a realistic list!)
I don't post about books except here but if anybody wants to do buddy read I'm happy to connect and make new friends along the way. I wish you all a safe stay at home.
Hi! I'm Louise from Ottawa, Canada. I tend to read a variety of books, but especially (at least for fiction) science fiction, classics, and literary books of what I think Katie would call "book club fiction" (or something like that, i.e., the not-too-experimental literary books). I read quite a bit of non-fiction as well, also on a variety of topics. I seem to have a magnetic attraction to any place that sells used books for cheap, and consequently have a ton of both fiction and non-fiction on my TBR. Some of these have been around for years, possibly close to a decade. I love the idea of trying to tackle some of these in the coming month!
Hi, I'm Lana from Bosnia and Herzegovina. It's easier to say what I don't usually read than what I love to read, since I enjoy a variety of different genres. Romance would be the genre that I read the least from, and probably YA, not to say that I'd never read those. Lately I've been enjoying classics most of all.
I still don't have a set tbr. I pulled out some 15-16 books from my shelves for this readathon, and I'll pick them up as I go, depending on my mood. Hope to finish at least 5-6 of those.
Anja wrote: "Hi, I am Anja from Germany.Over the last couple of years I have tried to reduce the number of books on my shelves (from approx. 4K to 1.5K). Among those that remained are more than a hundred that ..."
WOW from 4K to 1.5K that is impressive! Best of luck attacking those remaining!
Howdy Howdy Everyone, I am Rebecca from THe Colorful Booknester channel. Katie, the timing is perfect! I have been focusing on my "already own books" this year and after three months I find that I have several books that I began reading but then stopped for whatever reason. I have a huge, what I am calling my #GetterRead pile, books I need to finish or DNF and move on! So that will be my focus this month! Best of luck everyone.
Greetings all, Anja from Oregon. I mainly enjoy nineteenth century English and Russian literature as well as historical fiction. I indulge in historical romance novels though most are crap. I'm also a visual artist.
Hey, y’all! My name is Rylanne, and I’m from Ohio. I enjoy reading most genres, but my favorites are mystery, classic, historical fiction, and anything YA! I’m on bookstagram, and I’m really looking forward to this readathon because I have wayyyyyyyy to many books on my TBR list ahahah.

I'm Katie, from Books and Things over on Booktube. I love classics, historical fiction and contemporary reading group fiction, amongst many other things!
