I’m looking forward to this one. Never read it, but I was surprised as how much I enjoyed Treasure Island as an adult.
I’m halfway through and struggling. It’s one I could never make it through as a child. I will keep going because it’s short but I just plain don’t like Stevenson’s writing style and haven’t enjoyed anything of his I’ve read.

I am that way with Henry James - I have forced myself to read 3 of his books but there are still several more on the list.
Personally I like Stevenson's blend of history and adventure but it would be a boring world if we all had the same tastes!
@Leslie That’s true! I’ve never been much of an adventure story reader so maybe that’s why they don’t appeal. I liked it much better once they were off the ship and trekking through the Highlands though.
I was the other way - I quite enjoyed the piratey action, but found the "flight through the heather" to be dull/repetitive
