Ash walked into the PE room. She looked around and saw nobody else there. She sat down on a bench and waited for something to happen.
Jenelle runs over to Ash, "Hi!" she says, "I haven't seen you in a while, how've you been?" Wilder eyes his sister. Then rolled his eyes. He wasn't really a friend person.
Ash jumped up. “Hey Jenelle! I’ve been good! How about you?” She smiled. “Thanks again. You know, for being my friend.” Ash said shyly. “I don’t have many as you can probably tell.”
“Sure!” Ash exclaimed. “What do you wanna do?” She suddenly noticed Wilder. “Oh, um... hi.” She said quietly and clammed up. She didn’t realize anyone else was here.
Ash shrank to the side. She hated crowds. “Hey.” She responded weakly to Cole. Ash made sure to stay open the shadows, trying not to be noticed.
" You alright?" Cole asked a bit put off. Ash was pretty high on his list. How was he supposed to act normal around her?
“Yeah, I’m fine.” Ash said in a small voice. “I just hate crowds.” She tried sneaking to another part of the room where there were less people.
" There;s nothing wrong with them" Cole said slightly confused about her comment. To Cole, they had always been nice. The crowds were always friendly
Ash avoided two gossiping girls and then turned back to Cole. “There’s nothing wrong with them, I just...don’t like them.” She had a better reason, but she didn’t really want to go into all that.
Cole looked in confusion. There was nothing wrong with the people but she didn't like them even so? Ash seemed like too much of a girl who wouldn't do that but he heard every word clealy
Ash went around another group of people and came back to Cole. “It’s just... I’ve never had a good experience with crowds of people.” She explained. “It’s just been a little fear of mine since I was small.” She looked down, embarrassed.
" Oh" Cole said sympathetically wrapping an arm around her shoulders holping to give her some comfort. " Well, maybe you should stay away from me then" he teased smiling at her as he tried to lighten the mood
Ash leaned into him, relaxing. “I think I’d rather have a friend and face the crowds than to be unknown and alone.” She smiled.
Ash snorted. “Sure...” she said, totally unconvinced. “I’m known as the Freak, the Mystery, or even as the Killer. That’s what makes me known. No. The real me is unknown.” She sighed, looking at the crowd following Serenity.
Cole looked at Serenity as well. " Do you think they truly know Serenity?" he asked softly. Serenity was like a little sister. He didn't want her misunderstood
“Probably not.” Ash commented. “Not many people are truly known.” She looked over. “It all depends on how much they are willing to show and how much people are willing to receive.”
Ash nodded. “Usually, but that’s not always the case. For example, if I told everybody that I lived in a castle and I have alicorns on my doorstep, they wouldn’t believe me. If Serenity said something that people don’t want to believe, they wouldn’t accept it.”
Cole shrugged. Honesly if Serenity said that people would rpbably belive her giving that she was a singer
Jenelle shook her head, "Hi Cole, it's nice to see you too." She said frowning, nobody ever pays attention to her
“Hey Jenelle.” Ash called to her and walked over. “Do you want to do something after school today?” She looked around at the crowded room. “If we survive today.” She muttered under her breath so only Jenelle could hear.
Ash stepped back, getting out of Cole’s way. She yawned. “Sorry, I guess I’m tired.” She said embarrassed. “All this school must be getting to me.” But that want true, The truth was, she was staying up late doing secret stuff.
Ash shook her head, trying to stop the yawning. “What do you think we’re doing today?” She asked. She didn’t usually talk to people, but Cole was different. For some reason, she felt safe with him and felt comfortable talking to him. She hoped he was good. She hoped he wouldn’t betray her. He seemed good.
Jenelle's insides flipped upside down as Cole hugged her, she was not expecting that. She saw Wilder move toward her, but she shook her head slightly. She smiled at Cole. Then tuned to Ash, "I'd love to hang out! What do you want to do? And where?"
"I wasn't invited." Jenelle said sadly, "I've never been to a party anyway, I wouldn't know what to do. I don't have anyone to take me either."
"Oh. Well I guess I wouldn't know, I was probably thinking of a ball or something." She laughed. "I wasn't invited though anyway. Unless everyone can come, I doubt it though."
Jenelle's smile started to fade. "I didn't get one. But it's fine, I hardly know her so I don't know why she would give one to me. I'm a twin and a shade, so i'm considered weird." She choked up. Then turned her face away so Cole wouldn't see the tears starting. Wilder came over quickly and hugged her. He whispered something to her. She just nodded her head and they both sat down. Wilder was eyeing Cole.
Jenelle smiled and rushed over to hug Cole. She wrapped her arms around him and almost knocked him over. She was strong even if she was small. She blushed and let go. "Sorry," she said, "I guess I was a little too excited, then she laughed her clear, pretty, laugh.
She smiled, hoping she wasn't red from embarrassment. She heard Wilder snicker behind her, she turned and glared at him. He was NOT going to ruin the moment.
Wilder came up beside them and said, "Come on Jenelle, we should go. You need to find a dress for the party." He grabbed her arm and pulled her away. "Bye! See you at the party! When is it? And thank you again!" She said, trying to get everything out before Wilder pushed her out of the room. But before they left, Wilder whispered to Cole with his Shade ability, his shadow leaning over Cole, "Don't be getting any ideas about her." Then Wilder left the room, leaving Jenelle waiting for an answer.
