There's a lot of great YA historical fiction out there. It will be interesting to see how many nominations will go genre specific.
Chains by Laurie Halse Anderson Recommended by my students who had to read it this summer for summer reading.
Good Night, Mr. Tom by Michelle Magorian. This book takes place during WWII and has also a wonderful movie to follow if people are interested.
I would like to nominate The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. But Melissa's nomination sounds like a good read as well.
For purposes of this group read does "YA" mean YA, teen and children's books? Just looking for clarification.
