Charlie Wilson's War: The Extraordinary Story of How the Wildest Man in Congress and a Rogue CIA Agent Changed the History of our Times
Got the book but haven't read it. Seen the movie though. It's a comedy and makes a mockery of a serious subject, though it's entertaining enough.
The video documentary series 'World at War', with 26 episodes that cover the entirety of the last time we have a major conflict involving multiple countries. Millions died but we got lucky that none of the belligerents had WMDs that could end all human life forever. We're not so lucky anymore, and it might only be a matter of time until world ending tech is a button push away, and someone will eventually get bored and push that button :(
