Hello Everyone!!

I am so so sorry for posting this so so late!! (Wedding planning, Wedding Day and not being well afterwards took it all out of me!!)

Better late than never!!

Here are the discussions questions!!:

Did you find any similarities between Ellie and Jennifer? Did you enjoy reading about two different timelines in the same book?

Love Letters!! They used to be the only way to communicate with loved ones far away, and now we have so many other ways to make us feel closer and connected - and yet, there is something special about receiving a Love Letter. If you could choose only one, which would you choose?

Lastly, did you enjoy the book? What did you think of the ending?

Don’t forget about the BOTM Challenge & Points Challenge! If you do anything to earn a credit, don’t forget to post it on your own thread here!

The different societal norms of their heydays played a big role in their romantic choices. It felt awful watching Jennifer enter a marriage with Larry because of obligation. It was nice to know that Ellie never felt she needed to do similar.

2) Maybe I’m old fashioned, but I still think a handwritten love letter “speaks” more voluminously than anything in printed text. Handwriting experts will attest that much can be derived about a person from analyzing their writing samples. It’s more vulnerable and revealing to write anything by hand, especially in this tech age. My husband used to write little uplifting or flirty notes on hand cut strips of printer paper and slip them into my coat pocket... that was over 10 years now and it’s something that I think I’d like to start back in up after reasinf this book and answering this question.

3) I absolutely loved this book although it took me quite an effort to get into a good reading stride with it. The ending held great promise and gave me hope that things can possibly turn out well for soulmates.

Bonus:
Food: 1960s- puffed pastry appetizer and gin & tonic. Modern times- sandwich and tea- food of convenience. But celebratory champagne finish.
Music: Paul Anka “Put your head on my shoulder” (1960) then “fly me to the moon” by Frank Sinatra (1964). Mind over matter by young the giant for “present day.”
