Austenesque Lovers TBR Challenge 2020 discussion

I have noticed several instances of books listed at Amazon which aren't showing up in a reasonable time at GoodReads. Usually it seems 2 to 3 days (sometimes right away) and the book is at GR.

Melanie Rachel has a new book not yet out but has been at Amazon for over a week -- not showing at GR yet. I have read an ARC.

Renate McMann and Summer Hanford have a new one I got at KU yesterday.
"After Anne" -- still not showing at GR.

Has anyone else noticed similar lateness?

I had the sense that Being Mrs Darcy by Lucy Marin took a while to pop up on Goodreads.

I've noticed it. In some cases, it has taken so long that I've forgotten to go back and post my review.

I'm wondering if it has something to do with the current state of affairs in the world. I noticed the other day that Amazon UK had a banner up saying something along the lines of sales and delivery priorties being changed. Maybe that has had an impact on their digital content, too?

I'm pretty sure that we can wait for an ebook to be listed here, even though it's on Amazon, if it means that a vulnerable person gets what they need delivered when they need it.

Anji -- that theory never occurred to me. It's possible.

I had always thought the system was automated since Amazon and GR are connected.

That is a good theory, Anji. I addressed it with a librarian some time ago and they indicated it [the book I had questioned] had not downloaded or whatever the process is called, from Amazon. Who knows.

Wose is correct... we can wait a while and be understanding. After I contacted the librarian that first time... I didn't even follow up or question it. I just waited for it to arrive or post on GoodReads. I'll just need to make a 'Note-to-self' and make sure I post my review. I've noticed several I haven't posted recently. Oh well. We'll make do.

I am a librarian so if one is missing please tell me and I can manually add the book. :-)

I have added them on Goodreads for you! It sometimes takes a few minutes to populate but let me know if you don't see it.

I have been a librarian for a few years now, I got tired of not having the book details being correct so I applied.

Anytime you need a book added please message me directly or or post a message here, it just may take me a day or two to see it on this thread so don't think I am ignoring you. :-)

I am still not able to find Melanie Rachel's latest -- "I Never Knew Myself" on GR. It went live today. Could you check on it again, please.

Wosedwew - I put the link below, I could not get it to pull up by the full title but I could get it to pull up by the ASIN. I had included the "A Pride and Prejudice Variation" in the sort by title section when creating the book so I think that was the issue.

However, now you can pull it up by title or ASIN.....the link is below....please tell me if you still can't see it.

Yes indeed. It took 4-5 days for one of my beloved Scottish Cat detective books to appear on GR.

Well ... I was able to reach that one with your link and noticed it has no author listed. I rated it and put up my review then I looked at Melanie Rachel's page and saw it was also listed there without the addition of "A Pride and Prejudice Variation".

I had been checking both by name and under the author page so I know these are both new listings today.

Can these be combined under the author page?

I was under the impression that an API will add them when they are on Amazon (can't find the post in the Developers group to confirm this though) so it can take a few days for it to process.

I have had to manually add quite a few books so I am not sure how reliable the API is or if they are still using it, I will try to find an answer for you.

I have added it in and added it to the series as well. I need to go in and regroup some of her other books into the correct series, they have a bunch all mixed together.

Danielle, I have to beg your assistance again. Another recent book release isn't listed in GR yet. It's called the Essence of Love, and the author is Andreea Catana. (Yes, that's the way she spells her first name - at least according to Amazon.)

These are confusing because both have old listings from when they were on-line but the stories have been removed from AHA.

That link is from the old on-line posting. It was also given as a PDF for signing up with Q&Q at one time. It does link to the new published version but it doesn't click as "read" when I paged through the pub version.

I was able to update the listings so they show the old versions as just ebooks and the new one from Kindle is separate (only Super Librarians can delete books over a certain amount of reviews.) so when you search by the ASIN it will automatically pull up the Kindle versions but if you search by title you can then just choose which edition you want, Kindle or ebook.

I could not find the page count for Amy's book, I even downloaded it from Kindle Unlimited and it does not show me a page count, so if you can verify that it is 408 pages that would be great. I won't change that until I can get verification of it is incorrect or not.

I don't know the page for Mysteries but it is a long story. 408 could be right.
