I just finished Practical Magic. I feel kinda bad, because I really enjoy the movie more than the book.
I read Legends of the Fall for this one. Did not know that the book is actually 3 stories, and the last one is the actual Legens of the Fall. Does not come close to the movie. Loved the movie, did not enjoy the book.
I'm reading an old Harry Bosch story--one of the early ones that the Amazon series is using. Can I count that as my book for this category? Internet series vs movie?
I am reading Micheal Blake's Dances With Wolves. It's been a long time since I watched the movie. After I read the book, I may rewatch the movie to compare.
I finished Dances With Wolves. The book is well written and easy to read. It provides some incite to the challenges the native americans faced as their lives were invaded by outside peoples. I will have to rewatch the movie to comment further, however the author freely admits that the movie's ending is different from the book and that the indian tribe used in the movie is different as well. I personally prefer the book.
Ann,
Apologies for not replying sooner. There are no steadfast rules here, so I think TV series is fine for this category.

I finished The Princess Bride Last night. The book and movie are very similar with much of the dialogue being exactly the same. Everything being equal, go with the movie.

I agree! Have you read any of Rainbow Rowell's books? Eleanor and Park and Fangirl are her two YA books and they're both wonderful. No dystopian societies or graphic violence (although some coming-of-age sex, but it actually feels authentic and therefor not scandalous). I highly recommend all of her books if you wanna read something feel-good!

I just finished Coraline by Neil Gaiman for this. I didn't think I would like it, but I gave it a go anyway because it's really short. I'm glad I did, I really liked it! I don't remember much of the film, other than it creeped me out, so I have to watch it again soon to compare.
