Hi all, thought I would give this discussion thing a go.... I have just bought a new kindle - I've gone for the Paperwhite to replace my old touch screen one which I will be passing to my daughter. What does everyone think about ereaders, tablets and good old fashioned paper? I personally love my kindle and prefer using that to reading from a tablet as I can't get distracted by the internet, facebook, emails etc etc however I still love to read a physical book and switch between the two frequently - thoughts? (sorry if this has already been discussed and I've missed it!)

There was a discussion about this a little while back but I cant find the thread at the moment - as ever, the topic led to strong and different views: I am sure others (inc. those who didn't see the last discussion) will add to this one.
Personally, I like both media for different reasons. I wouldn't treasure an e-book; but I like its convenience especially on holiday

Found it - in the welcome thread - back at the beginning of December - if you put Kindle into the "search discussion posts" box to the right you will find the discussion. Others may well wish to continue it here though - lots of new members since then

Hi Victoria. My main contribution to the last - brief - discussion on e-readers versus print was that I found I could read my kindle on a train when previously reading had always made me bad! It's a real plus. I have yet to try it in a car but that will be an even greater test... Otherwise I'm afraid I still favour a book in my hand though the kindle's really useful when travelling. I like to be able to flick back through the pages to check on things and see at a glance where I'm at.Do you have particular types of book you prefer to read on kindle/in print?
