April 22nd is Earth Day! Lets all show our planet some love today! Our Earth Day challenge is to read a book that has a blue or green cover! Alternately, you can read a book that has a planet on the cover, or the name of a planet in the title!

Tr1sha | 833 comments Good choice, Jenny. There should be masses of suitable books.

Thanks Trisha! I thought it would be a fun little challenge. I plan to read something with a planet on the cover, or in the title!

Eileen | 1862 comments This sounds really cool. I think I have several that could be suitable, although they're more sci-fi books instead of fantasy. But I'll dig around. This is a great challenge!

I've just finished a book with a green cover, could i count it or do i have to read another for the 22nd?

Eileen | 1862 comments For these mini challenges, you just need to read the book during the time of the challenges, so in this case, March 22-June 21 I think it is. Basically until Summer.

A very funny book with a blue cover:

Summer Lightning:by P.G. Wodehouse
Summer Lightning (Blandings Castle) by P.G. Wodehouse

Beth, Eileen is exactly right, anything read between March 21 and June 21st is what counts!
P.G Wodehouse! What a great choice Rose!

Do you have to read the other books in that series first?

Ohhh and it's Blanding's Castle series I see! The first one was quite funny!

This one is even funnier, Jenny.

Eileen | 1862 comments Although this does not fulfill the wording of the challenge, I just finished Swan Song and it ends up having a main character, Swan, who becomes a key player in restoring the Earth after a nuclear holocaust.

That's a really good choice Eileen!

message 15: by Eileen (new)

Eileen | 1862 comments Thanks! I'm currently reading The Water Dancer because of the cover and it officially fulfills the challenge, but I think Swan Song fits the theme better overall.
