Yay. It's free on Kindle Unlimited so I don't have to be worried about whether I can get it from the library or not.
Just purchased off of amazon, got a great price for it at $1.49 and looks like one that I'll read more than once.
Karen Kay wrote: "Has anyone started the book?"Once I finish reading 'Death Rides A Chestnut Mare' by Ralph Compton, going to start it and hopefully by the weekend.
Finished. I haven't read anything specifically about the Northfield bank robbery before. Not really a spoiler but I'll hide my comments just in case .. (view spoiler)
Throughout, I was pausing to search Google for other articles and factoids about the people and Northfield. I like reading HF that makes me wonder and think about the people and the time in which they lived.

I bought the Kindle edition for a nice price. I've got a couple other books queued up before I start it. Thanks Kay for the Youtube video link. Very interesting.
I really liked this one. Here's my review: An original and brilliant retelling of the James-Younger gang assault on a bank in Northfield Minnesota in 1876. Each chapter is told in the first person by a different person that was somehow involved in the failed robbery that resulted in several deaths and injuries. I love how Boggs was able to give a unique voice to each of the characters, from a little girl who’s father was killed in the robbery to the violent outlaws, some of whom were surprisingly intelligent and utterly fascinating. You can tell that Boggs did a lot of research to make this as historically accurate as possible. A remarkable achievement and a terrific read.
