The Book Was Better discussion

Only on the small screen but... anyone else happy with the "His Dark Materials" series? What are your thoughts?

Well, I haven't watched it yet, but I did enjoy the movie, although I liked best the books:) I think they are amazing and I feel like if the remaining books were adapted to the big screen they would have been worse movies than the first one, so I'm glad they dind't.
On that note, do you think the series is worth watching? Is it good? I would love to know your opinion.

I thought the series was great. They really follow the book closely and add so many details. Also they put part of the second book in the first series as well which I thought was really good, too. The cast is brilliant, I love every one of them. They stay so true to their characters. A few changes were made though (like no Tony Makarios, Farder Coram being a bit agile, ...) but rather minor changes in general. I watched the movie many years ago but this series can't be compared to that. It's a million times better. I can really recommend watching it if you are a fan of the books.

Okay, thanks so much! Right now I'm watching a different series but I'll definitively make room for that one. I will let you know when I finish it so maybe we could chat about it?
