I will be reading the whole of the Pilgrimage sequence this year from this shamefully neglected modernist genius. Hopefully will be able to track down more of her work too, though little is in print.

I was planning on doing the same. I also have her short fiction and selected letters, both of which are available from sellers on Amazon and Abe.
When in January? I was going to read Martha Quest with Proustitute on the 1st, so maybe a little later in the month?
I don't know how well I will do with the whole "group read" thing actually, as I can't follow a schedule - if I enjoy the first as much as I hope I do I may just plow on through the whole thing...Either way I certainly plan on doing the whole thing this year but until I get going with her work I don't know how "easy" she will be to read. Maybe we should do the first volume (which, in the Virago edition, contains Pointed Roofs, Backwater and Honeycomb), see how long it takes and how we feel about it and then go from there?
Sounds good, Jonathan. I'll likely start vol. 1 of the Virago with you guys toward the end of Jan. then, if not sooner (I will probably be reading very slowly, if I begin sooner). And then we can all take it from there.
I like this plan too. Loose reading, no schedule, meet back here to chat. Not that I don't mind formal group reads or anything, but I have a feeling a more rigid structure for Richardson's work would probably dampen the mood a little.
sorry guys - have jumped the gun a bit and started already as was reading crit on the book and got over excited...I am completely incapable of sticking to a schedule anyway...
No worries. Figured this group was mostly for discussion, with everyone reading at their own pace. I'll get to it sometime later in the month. Meanwhile, let us know how it goes!

Same.
I'm about a quarter of the way through Backwater. This isn't the sort of book one can easily make into a schedule, anyway: it's best to read fast in doses, I find. It does read fast; it's engaging and enjoyable; but it's also hard to make a sense of it until, I imagine, one completes all 13 novels.
I'm going to read all of Pilgrimage in 2015, but not yet sure how I'll space it out. I'm going to put it on hold for a week or so now, at least, while I catch up on some other group reads - then I shall return to it. It's a good book to do that with, I think...

All of the great articles from the Dorothy Richardson Journals can be read for free online here: http://dorothyrichardson.org/PJDRS/in...Lots of excellent stuff here....
I have set up a group for DR - and all of you are very welcome to join - I see it as being a place for us to store links to articles, record thoughts as we read and generally slowly create a useful resource for anyone looking to read her work. https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/...
