I've really enjoyed the series - though I was a bit disappointed in the Keanu Reeves movie. There's a lot more religion than I would have realized in the show (I haven't read the comic, so if that's an aspect of it, I didn't know). But I think they've done well with the writing, and I agree that the casting was well done.
I've been enjoying the show, quite a bit. It seems a little more true to the spirit and concepts of the comics/graphic novels. Unlike the Keanu Reeves movie (which I also found disappointing). They did a good job with the casting and the writing has been pretty solid so far. I just hope it sticks around.
I've been a huge Constantine/Hellblazer fan for the last decade (that is, a fan of the books, despite the titular character being intentionally despicable).I like the show and think they did a great job with the casting and with sticking to the vibe of the earlier comics (the best ones, IMO, written by Jamie Delano) while integrating a few elements that aren't revealed til much later in the comic series. At its best, the show reminds me of David Tennant-era Doctor Who, but with more supernatural than science.
Hellblazer was the direct inspiration for so many successful TV series in recent years, so it's a shame that the Hollywood film version of it was awful and that the TV series has already been cancelled. I think it would have done better on cable than NBC.

I'm enjoying it more each week. I love the casting - John, Zed, Chaz, the angel. (< Um, can't remember his name but I love the actor. I always call him Mercutio because I first saw him in Baz Luhrman's Romeo & Juliet.)
