I sure know no guy who talks like French’s Adam/Rob, although narrator almost made me a believer. Almost! And I found O’Malley not finding out about our major character (and Cassie going along with it) more than a bit unbelievable. That said, through Chapter 12 I was really caught up in the Katy mystery, although the ‘who did it’ apparent from the beginning. Too much angst for Adam/Rob in the later chapters...he was least favorite character for me But great fleshing out many of the other characters. The procedural details and the look at Ireland in both stories’ decades kept me reading. Other reviews found the prose beautiful; I found the author taking lots of words to create her images (maybe the author’s theatrical background). This was the author’s debut novel; had enough possibilities to make me want to read another…there must be more if she is referred to “First Lady of Irish Crime.” My first audio book that I listened to the entire book. Would love others response to the narrator.

I got about 95% finished with this book and it got returned on Libby before I could finish it! I've been on hold again for it ever since. Once I finish it I'll be back and I'll post about it!
