For 2019, I have tie between Where the Crawdads Sing, The Psychology of Time Travel, and Time's Convert. Compared to last year's reads 2020 is starting off slow.
The best book of my reading list last year was:BECOMING- by Michelle Obama
I would say a must read by everyone!
My favorite book in 2019 (wasn’t published in 2019, but that’s when I read it) was A Little Life. It’s not for everyone—the subject matter can be disturbing to many—but it was a book that has stayed with me ever since I closed the back cover. It’s earned a place in my all-time top ten favorites!
For 2019, I'd have to say there are two favorites. I really loved Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng. I can't wait to watch the new tv series they made of it! The other one is A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles. If you like more historical/literary fiction you should definitely check this out! It ended up being the perfect summer read for me, and I have a feeling it's a book I'll read again and again.
Definitely Colson Whitehead's NICKEL BOYS. Provides some truth-telling history as experienced and lived through by young person learning the consequences of idealism. Parts of this book were painful to read.
Have you also read Whitehead's book The Underground Railroad? We read it for a book club at NPL in 2017. I think Nickel Boys would be another great book club pick!

Did you like or dislike it? What genre was it? Have you read books like it before, or was it a new experience for you? Would you recommend it to others?
