Adored her Twenty Fragments of a Ravenous Youth and I have I Am China: A Novel waiting on the shelves.

Kris (krisrabberman) I also have I Am China: A Novel waiting to be read -- would love to join you, Samadrita.

Samadrita (fictionista01) | 61 comments Yay! When will you be up for that, Kris? I was thinking of reading it around Feb-March.

message 4: by Kris (new)

Kris (krisrabberman) Anytime that works for you will work for me, Samadrita.

Traveller (moontravlr) | 736 comments Hmm, I was hoping for Twenty Fragments of a Ravenous Youth, which I see you've already read, Sama. Maybe we can discuss it if and when I ever get around to reading it? :P

Samadrita (fictionista01) | 61 comments @Trav:-Sure thing. That is one of my favorite books by a Chinese author ever (not that I've read much to begin with). :D

@Kris:-A mid-Feb to March time period will work best for me. Let's decide on a starting date once we're a little ahead with our January-Feb readings.

Kris (krisrabberman) Sounds good to me, Samadrita. And Trav, I am planning to read Twenty Fragments sometime as well, so let me know if you want to do a joint read on that later in the year.

Kris! You must own hundreds of books. Are they mostly regular books or e-books? Lately I've been using my Kobo more because it's saving me space at home :)

message 11: by Kris (new)

Kris (krisrabberman) Laima, my book collection is kind of out of control. I started with all regular books, but have been moving over to ebooks when I can, bc I am running into serious space issues. If I love a book that I have as an ebook, I usually buy a copy for my (real) shelves as well.

Sookie Hi, is this group/buddy read open for everyone?

I would love to join you guys on this one. I read her Lovers in the time of indifference and fell in love with written romance.

Welcome, Sookie! Yes it is open for everyone - Kris and I were about to read it amongst ourselves because very few people showed interest in Guo! I guess you have a copy of 'I am China'?

message 16: by Sookie (new)

Sookie Thank you. Yea, I have this one and Concise Chinese English dictionary too. I didn't expect many people to know Guo. So super glad found you guys here. I adore the way she writes :)
