Check this out! Incredible!

Heather | 8550 comments ‘Triste’ ? What language is that? I only know English and Italian and it’s not a word in English and in Italian it means sad so is it a sad image?

message 3: by Heather (new)

Heather | 8550 comments Repugnant means “extremely distasteful” hmmm really?

message 4: by Heather (new)

Heather | 8550 comments Oh!!
I just clicked on the link! It has changed from when I first posted it.
Now I see why you said that. Of course!
No, what I posted was a room that was all around the painting ‘Starry Night’ In lights in the ceiling, the walls, the floor, so you walk through the painting itself. It was really neat! That’s what I thought you were saying was “repugnant” and I didn’t understand.

No, what is showing in that link now is NOT what I had originally posted. so disregard this post now. It is no longer showing.

Heather | 8550 comments Yes I like Enigma. I like mysticism. That’s one thing I like about surrealism, too. It’s kinda like that.

message 6: by Heather (new)

Heather | 8550 comments I have never heard of that. I just looked it up. There were a lot of urban legends around that painting and the fact that fires would start wherever the paintings were and the paintings would remain intact.
It’s still a mystery that, I guess, the fire department in the UK are still trying to debunk the myths. The paintings are probably created in flame-retardant materiel, most to all the fires were caused by human carelessness, etc.
Very interesting. Thank you for telling me about that!

message 7: by Heather (new)

Heather | 8550 comments Well, you made another comment since I just posted.
I haven’t heard of that mirror, either. But stuff like that doesn’t interest me. I enjoy mystery but not stuff that could delve into sorcery or alchemy. I wouldn’t want to see the mirror. I do wonder where it is...

message 8: by Heather (new)

Heather | 8550 comments That depended on the movement at the time, I think. I don’t think “many” artists depended on sorceries or occultism...

message 9: by Heather (new)

Heather | 8550 comments Or what do you mean by “in their works” ?

message 10: by Heather (new)

Heather | 8550 comments No, I don’t. I get nightmares.

message 11: by Heather (new)

Heather | 8550 comments Interesting, I’ll have to look him up. Thank you.
Oh, that one artist you asked me about, remember? I can’t remember the name. She is female I think, does the photoshopped paintings? They were definitely different, a new idea, I give it that. And she did bring nature into the ‘picture’ if you will, and there were some I did like. I didn’t relate to them as far as my broken-hearted relationships in that way, but looking at her work as art, some were aesthetic. Many were disturbing. In all, I’m not a big fan, but I do say she is an exceptional artist.

message 12: by Heather (new)

Heather | 8550 comments I'm sorry, I need to correct myself. The artist is male. He does interesting and individualistic work. Thank you for introducing me to it.

Art will never be out of fashion. ;)

:) So is it not safe to click on the first link, Heather? It sounds so awesome!

message 15: by Heather (new)

Heather | 8550 comments Oh yes it’s safe. It has just changed from what it was when I first posted this thread. I’m not sure what the site is, it changes pieces of art apparently, so it just shows something different. It’s showing a work by Salvador Dali now.

message 16: by Heather (new)

Heather | 8550 comments Oh! It’s in French. That’s why I couldn’t understand what the site was. It’s ‘something’ of lights. It’s an exposition. I can’t understand the instructions on how you get to that room but if you go to that link and browse that site, maybe if you understand French you can figure out how to walk through the room with Starry Night. It’s the same link. It’s the same exposition, I don’t know how to get to that page, though because I can’t read French. Sorry!

message 17: by Heather (new)

Heather | 8550 comments If you just browse around the site, you can’t walk through the room anymore because it’s now closed, of course, so I guess they don’t keep a video recording of it. But it has samples of whichever ones you want to see, it has Klee, Klimt, Dali, di Chirico, and more! They are rooms that have the paintings on videos on the walls and ceilings and floors so you feel like they are all around you.
When you click on the link it won’t take you directly to that but just browse a little and you’ll find it.

message 18: by Heather (new)

Heather | 8550 comments I found another link that (I think) goes directly to the van Gogh room. CLICK ON THIS LINK TO PERUSE THE 'STARRY NIGHT' ROOM!
Here you go Carol.

Heather | 8550 comments Well hello! There you are! And here I am! I’m in and out these days. Been having some health issues. Good to see you! How are you?

Heather | 8550 comments Hi everyone! I am so excited about this!
Here in the vast desert state of Utah without much cultural taste, we are having “Beyond Van Gogh Salt Lake City”! I’m floored that something so exciting would think anyone in Utah would be interested, but then again, who doesn’t know Van Gogh? I pre-registered so I’m waiting for tickets to go on sale.
This is so exciting!
