I have had an idea for a while now that I would like to write about what I think of as my "breakthrough books" - the books that have read that have opened up a new reading path for me, or have had a huge impact on me at the time, those that I have reread many times, and have a special place in my memories.

But I have stalled, because well, for a variety of reasons.

But on Facebook this week, I was nominated into a challenge called #BookChallenge . Every day for 7 days to post books that I love.

One book per day, no explanations, no reviews, just the cover.

This is how I will post my Breakthrough Books - words not needed, the pictures will tell the story of my reading life

Silver Brumby book was absolutely mine as well....plus the whole series.
And I’ve just spent ages thinking about another series I adored. Obviously my brain has not gone to poo because I found it! The triolgy Flambards by K.M. Peyton Probably my first foray into romance now I think about it. Forgotten it was a tv series too! Ahhh memories

I read a lot of horse books as a kid, but the Brumby series I have re-read several times as an adult, it is still a favourite for me

And I have been having lots of fun remembering my break through books. I need to get back to it, work has been a bit hectic the last couple of weeks!

Breakthrough book - 1978 ish

I was reading the The Hanging Tree and it mentioned The Owl Service. I remember having that book as a child. There used to be a book catalogue through school and I remember I "bought" that one and another called The Silver Crown. These introduced me to fantasy books.
