The book blurb says more, but basically Agnes, who writes a syndicated food column called "Cranky Agnes" is preparing to hold a wedding on her property when she is hit with one major snag after another, and her life is in danger. Combine this with Shane, the lifesaving hero who climbed through her window to do so, a number of mafia members and other nefarious types, a bevvy of friends and others this becomes a crazy mix of murder and mayhem, heat and comedy, violence and passion. If it's not one thing, it's another, and it takes the entire book, from start to finish, for all of this to play out--no wasted time anywhere.

And isn't there a scene involving that weapon of mass destruction - the cast iron frying pan - as wielded by Agnes in saving the day or the hero or both?I loved this. One of the few books I have only 'read' in audio. It was the perfect accompaniment of a solo drive in a blizzard from Nashville to NYC.

The frying pan as a weapon comes up more than once :). One of the reasons I "bought" this with points when I found it is because I saw you'd liked it, even though another of my GR friends hadn't. It turns out that in this case, I leaned more toward your opinion.
