Jamie Burgoon Decided to read this for the first in 20 years. Maybe I wanted to find comfort in it considering what is going on with the corona virus. It was better than I remembered, although I didn't remember the love story part! I guess you get different things out of the same books when you read them at different ages. The nuance of complex emotions is really nice. Not sure why I sought this book out considering how much death is I it, and how the main characters navigate through it, but maybe it's as simple as I love kitchens too.

Leigh Minarapa I'm looking forward to reading this a second time. I think it's one of those books that you get more out of during the second read. I'm trying to get my hands on more Japanese lit so this has a been a good starting point for me (aside from Murakami)
