Lara walks out of the oakwood grove onto the grassy open place grabbing a wooden staff from the weapon stands. She does so without looking at it and swings it from her left hand to her right while rotating it. It is as long as herself with iron-reinforced ends tapering. As she crosses the line of the fight circle she keeps the weapon steady to her right. On her thin leather girdle rest two underarm-long knives. She wears fitting trousers, a linen shimmy and a leather vest over it. She has dropped her dark red greatcoat at the line the trees form in the background. Lara positions herself in the circle taking a fighting pose waiting for her first opponent to make a move.
She is willing and dedicated to win this tournament. Years of training have formed her body, her shape is more animalistic than the one of a noble Fae. Her bleach white hair is wafting open in the soft wind and her pale blue search the place for an appropiate counterpart.

After waiting for some time, Lara got bored and started some training. She knew how to use every weapon there was on the stands and how to reinforce her attacks with a spark of her magic. She attacked the straw dummies over and over again with knives, her staff, thrown knives, swords of all kind and bows, all leaving fire marks and deep cuts. With the bow she finished them off and let them explode into sparks and ash. Bored again and still alone as far as she noticed, she turned to the birchwood grove picking up her dark red greatcoat again. She throws it over her right shoulder, the staff still in her left and leaves the open place.

Many a fae noble has earned the respect of their prince through blood and death. The jousts of the spring court are a competition known throughout the land for the very fact that anything goes. Competitors can use any weapon, trick, or magic spell to achieve victory. For if you don't use the full range of weapons at your disposal then you are not truly fighting to the best of your ability. The only thing that is banned is iron and it is of the highest offense to be caught in possession of the deadly material. Competitors may only lose by either yielding to their opponent or dying. It is one of the few places that fae of all courts test their strengths against each other and it is an event greatly anticipated by all. The winner is granted one wish from Prince Connall, and if it is in his power then he will grant it. Though of course he must agree with the outcome of the wish himself. The jousts are held not far from the Keep of Roses in a grassy plain. The stands are set up over night by mortal workers and the arena is raised by the spring prince himself. The champion of the jousts is given the title the Prince's Rose and is offered a place in the Court of Spring.
