I am working on a fantasy novel. I haven't picked a name for it yet but I have a pretty good idea of what the plot is.
I've been working on a detective story. I can't pick names either. There are so many factors to consider before naming things.

Don't you love that "aha" moment when you realize you've been setting up for this moment throughout your writing without even knowing it. You're like, "oh, that actually works perfectly!" I love it when that happens!

How is your writing projects going?
Right now mine are going well. I paused one to work in a new mg novel, and it good so far.

Me! Planning a fantasy novel that i'll be working on during my creative writing masters in uni :DHaven't started writing yet though. I'm fleshing it out more using the seven questions idea to help myself shape it.
Anyone got any tips?
Fun!! I would say, once you start writing, just keep writing. Don't worry about what you've written, just keep thinking about what you're about to write. The first draft is just getting the main idea on the page. Everything after that is to perfect it. And good luck! Writing is so much fun!!
Good advice! I tend to worry and try to make it better as i go, but i interrupt myself when i do that. I have the general idea for how the story should go now, the finer details should hopefully come to me as i'm writing. It's the names of the characters i really need to decide on. i've been calling them by their roles, like 'protagonist', 'antagonist' as i plan. Names are hard!
Yes, they are!! But, honestly, naming my characters is like, one of my favorite parts. They'll be great, I'm sure!!
I'm currently writing a ya contemporary dealing with foster care. This summer, my main goal is to consistently make writing part of my day and prioritize finishing the first draft. There's really no better time than now to focus on practicing and growing in the craft. :)
