Omg, I love this, Bea! Good luck with your challenge. :D I could really use something similar to get me more focused these days.

I'm already feeling more motivated to pick up some older tbr-books :)
I had ordered 2 sequels in the Kingfountain series (which I'm enjoying a lot by the way) when I started the challenge and they have now arrived. I created another category for sequels. I'll start one of the Kingfountain books later today, so there's only one left for my TBR.Also, I read:
Lancelot
Dragon Haven
So despite buying two new books I'm down to 30 now :)

Recently read books:
Dead Man's Folly
Little Women
Currently reading and almost finished: The Mirror Empire
Current number of Tbr books: 28
Read for challenge:The Riddle-Master of Hed
The Shining
Godblind
The Mirror Empire
The Hollow Crown
I also unhauled The Plague and The Dragon's Path because I've had them for a long time and don't see myself ever picking them up.
Also decided to abandon Gormenghast, at least for now.
I'll be finishing Robinson Crusoe and The Case-Book of Sherlock Holmes soon, but for now the Tbr-count is 20 :)
So far this challenge is going really well and I feel like my urge to buy books has subsided for now :)
Read for challenge:City of Dragons
Robinson Crusoe
The Case-book of Sherlock Holmes
Current number of Tbr books: 17
Read:Poirot Investigates
Twenty-Thousand Leagues under the Sea
Current number of Tbr books: 15
I need to think about some new rules. I might stick to trying to read one classic each month.
I'd really like to finally get to all of the non-classics, too and bring the number down to maybe 2 or 3 books. This challenge has been really helping so far!
Read:Flamecaster
Transformation
Current number of Tbr-books: 13
New goals:
- Continue to read one classic per month
- reduce number of Tbr-books in this post to 5 (that doesn't necessarily mean I cannot buy any new books, I just want to finally get rid of all the old tbr-books :) )
Read:Flowers for Algernon
The Spider
One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest
Elric of Melniboné and Other Stories
Number of Tbr-books: 9
I ordered a few books today (well, 8 actually) 😊I feel like my number of non-classics is low enough now (and my lovely grandma gave me some money that I obviously had to spend xD she decided to give all of her grandkids pocketmoney every month or so, so that we can "buy ourselves some nice things", bless her <3 )

19 actually. I finished Best Served Cold and am still reading Blood of Dragons. But I also still have 4 sequels to read that I did not include in the challenge. The main goal was to finally get to those books that I have had for ages and never picked up anyway and the challenge has been such a great motivation for that! So I'm not sure if I'll continue monitoring my tbr after all the old books have been read. Probably not, as long as it doesn't escalate again, I can handle 10-20 without feeling bad.
It's weird, some people can handle Tbr piles much bigger than that but I can't, I always feel like the books smother me 😅

My physical TBR ist quite small in comparison to a lot of people on Goodreads but I still would like to reduce it. The thing is, there are a bunch of books that have been sitting on my shelves for a long time because I always tend to pick up books I just recently bought. So the older books stay and collect dust. Especially the classics....
Total number of TBR books: 7 (Start: 31)
New goals (1st May):
- Continue to read one classic per month
- reduce number of Tbr-books in this post to 5

Classics: 4
Two on a Tower

The Court of Broken Knives
Night of Knives
