Merry Christmas to you, Soph, and I hope your busyness is all in a good cause! May the new year bring you joys both wished for and unexpected.
Merry Christmas, happy holidays to all.How many Jane Austen novels have Christmas scenes?
In P&P, the Gardiners visit the Bennet family over Christmas.
In Emma, the John Knightleys come to Hartfield for the holiday and they dine at Randalls on Christmas Eve (and nearly get snowed in - horrors).
What else happens?

Merry Christmas to all and Happy 2015!
Anne visits the Musgrove's big house and sees a noisy celebration.
I'm just beginning to read Pride & Prejudice for the first time. Finished Sense & Sensibility this morning. Don't know why I never read Jane Austen before this. Going to watch the fim of Sense & Sensibility to compare & contrast - oh how intellectual I sound :)
Tina, how I envy you, reading these books for the first time! I had that peak experience so long ago I can’t fully remember what it was like.
Hello! I wish I could read them again for the first time!
Thank you :) it was a good year!
We have read as a group all but Northanger Abbey which is due next before we get back to Pride and Prejudice, but I suppose something could be arranged. Perhaps I'll do a poll :)

Thanks for your comment, Melissa. I loved S&S. The way in which Austen tells her story is as interesting as the story itself. The most insightful revelation I had - not original to me, I'm sure - was that Marianne had to fully forgive Willowby before being ready to love & marry Col. Brandon. Willowby comes to Elinor to admit the defects of his character that motivated him to marry for money rather than love. Once Marianne is told of this, she can see that, although he did love her, he could never be happy married to a woman without means. She pronounces him selfish & seems to understand that it's all about him. This passion with no bounds kind of love she thought she & Willowby shared was not what it seemed. Forgiveness is a gift we give ourselves is proved once again :)
NA is my least favorite maybe reading it with you will help me appreciate it. Of course if I am asked to vote I will vote P&P so don't ask
