Play Book Tag discussion

Well, this book started off so very promising, with some laugh out loud bits etc, but it didn't take long enough before it started to go south, and then the ending was such a walloping disappointment. I can't give it only one star because I really did laugh out loud a few times and that first part was quite good, really. But for one thing (view spoiler)[he has one of my favourite new characters from the previous book vanish inanely and spoil one of the most promising story lines (hide spoiler)] he not only decides to have the universe unravelling but, in the end, (view spoiler)[the earth is re-destroyed for good, with Arthur, Trillium and Ford Prefect all destroyed with it. ... (hide spoiler)].

Oops, please check your spoiler cover. The main spoiler is visible. I'm reading an earlier book in this series. I would be disappointed in that ending too.
