Bloodorange (pani_od_angielskiego) | 618 comments I consider reading both Trilogies this year - at least The Balkan Trilogy.

message 3: by Kris (new)

Kris (krisrabberman) Same here, Bloodorange.

message 4: by Andrew (new)

Andrew Schirmer | 9 comments I second The Balkan Trilogy. :)

Bloodorange (pani_od_angielskiego) | 618 comments Perhaps a silly question: how does one coordinate group reading of 924 pages among so many other books? (it's my first group read and I cannot imagine the logistics involved.)

It looks so overwhelming to me I considered going solo and not saying a word:) but yesterday I dug out both volumes and couldn't resist sharing the news.

Kris (krisrabberman) One solution is to schedule it over an extended period of time. We may need to have separate discussion threads for the different books in the trilogy, as well. That way, if some readers go ahead (or others take longer to read), spoilers aren't as much of a concern.

Bloodorange (pani_od_angielskiego) | 618 comments Would you like to start as a formal group, or rather set up a place when we could exchange remarks/ ask question more informally? Much as I hate to say that, I don't think I can follow one more scheduled read, but if this is what works for you, I'll be alright chipping away at The Balkan Trilogy on my own.

Kris (krisrabberman) I like the idea of an informal exchange/discussion.

Bloodorange (pani_od_angielskiego) | 618 comments Great! :) Should we all start around the same time, or it doesn't matter?

message 10: by Cynthia (new)

Cynthia Dunn Oh man, this is another one I want to read. What to do, what to do?

message 11: by Kris (new)

Kris (krisrabberman) I like the idea of a loose/informal discussion, which we could open at the earliest date any of us think we'd be reading, and keep open all year for informal discussion. We'd just have to be really careful about using spoiler tags and specifying what book and chapter we're on, since we would only have one thread for the discussion, and we couldn't set up different threads for different parts of the trilogy.

Bloodorange (pani_od_angielskiego) | 618 comments This sounds really good:)

message 13: by Andrew (new)

Andrew Schirmer | 9 comments Yes, sounds good!

Kris (krisrabberman) What are you thinking about start date? Should we begin in February? Anytime will work for me -- up to all of you.

message 15: by Andrew (new)

Andrew Schirmer | 9 comments February is good.

message 16: by Cynthia (new)

Cynthia Dunn I'll try. This group is getting me to read a whole bunch of books that have been gathering dust on my shelves for years. I love that.

Same here, Cynthia! And I love seeing more of friends like you, too.
