Erik: I wasn't as impressed with Mirror in the Well either... and also wasn't with A Brief History of Yes. both left me a bit lukewarm.
but I team-read Three Apples Fell From Heaven with Kris, and I concur with her verdict above: what an astounding novel.
I'd like to read the two others in that loose history/violence/war trilogy sequence of hers if any is keen? Draining the Sea is one; The Daydreaming Boy is the other.

Shall we aim for Draining the Sea later in the year, then?
I'd prefer to read the second one first, obviously (Daydreaming Boy); and that would also give you, Erik, time to read Three Apples... or perhaps for someone else who hasn't recently read it to be interested in a team read with you.
Does that work?

Awesome. When works?
Still need to tweak my own reading schedule for next year! Plan to do that a bit later on today... You'd be better able to judge when there seems to be some time, then? I think you said post-June?
