Erik F. | 29 comments I wasn't terribly impressed with The Mirror in the Well, but I'll probably read something else by her if anyone else does.

Kris (krisrabberman) I loved Three Apples Fell from Heaven. I have A Brief History of Yes and Draining the Sea on hand, waiting to be read.

Erik: I wasn't as impressed with Mirror in the Well either... and also wasn't with A Brief History of Yes. both left me a bit lukewarm.

but I team-read Three Apples Fell From Heaven with Kris, and I concur with her verdict above: what an astounding novel.

I'd like to read the two others in that loose history/violence/war trilogy sequence of hers if any is keen? Draining the Sea is one; The Daydreaming Boy is the other.

Erik F. | 29 comments Three Apples was the one I most wanted to read, but I'm fine with reading Draining the Sea as a group.

Shall we aim for Draining the Sea later in the year, then?

I'd prefer to read the second one first, obviously (Daydreaming Boy); and that would also give you, Erik, time to read Three Apples... or perhaps for someone else who hasn't recently read it to be interested in a team read with you.

Does that work?

Kris (krisrabberman) P., I'll read Daydreaming Boy with you (and anyone else), and Draining the Sea later in the year with the group.

Awesome. When works?

Still need to tweak my own reading schedule for next year! Plan to do that a bit later on today... You'd be better able to judge when there seems to be some time, then? I think you said post-June?

message 8: by Kris (new)

Kris (krisrabberman) Yes -- I could make March or April work, but my schedule for this group frees up more after June.

Shall we say June for Daydreaming Boy then, and perhaps July or later for Draining the Sea?

message 10: by Kris (new)

Kris (krisrabberman) Perfect.
