I also just finished this book (hopefully posting my review today) and I was just "eh" on it. I think you hit it on the head with your comment that if you are in the law business you would need to suspend your beliefs. lol. I also gave it a 3.5 stars, but rounded mine down to 3. In addition to the law stuff (I mean, can you believe that as a veteran defense attorney (view spoiler)) I thought the end was a little too convenient. Endings where the guilty person conveniently spills their guts and explains every step they took make me roll my eyes.
But, overall it was engaging, and kept me reading! I was more intrigued by the 2009 trial of Bobby Knock and it was told through stories of each juror. It showed not only the progression of the trial, but also just all the things that a juror is going through in their personal life that may impact a verdict. I thought it was the best part.
Ha! I knew you were reading it and thought of you often as I rolled my own eyes at all the stuff in your spoiler. In the end it got the 4th star from me, because it also engaged me and was the first book that I actually finished that was started before the world paused.

Not one to give away the plot of a book, I am not sure exactly what to say here.
Mystery/Thriller is not a go to genre for me. For me to pick one up and finish it, that tells you it is a pretty decent read. The story revolves around a jury, who ten years earlier acquitted a man, that most believed to be a pedophile and murderer. I liked that the story was told in the different voices of the jury.
Graham Moore does a great job of story-telling and the hook and ending are pretty damn good. There were parts, where I think, especially if you are in the law business, you need to suspend your beliefs, to totally enjoy the ride.
Recommended to those of you like a well told mystery-some of you may be able to tie it all together before the ending unfolds, but I did not figure it out. A satisfying read, I am pushing it up to four stars on my shelf.
