Hi Helen, thanks again for the Eleanor Oliphant review, wondered if you had a book suggestion for us to read, I know Shirley is reading Munich at the moment, any idea of the next book for us to read ? Also Paul and Sue, any ideas ? Thank you Sarah
Happy to put Munich up for discussion. Sarah, my suggestion would be All the light we cannot see by Anthony Doerr. I have this on my book shelf and haven't got round to reading it.
Hi Helen, just put up a discussion post for Munich, feel free to add your review, Shirley will be doing the same. Yes, 'All the Light We Cannot See' by Anthony Doerr will be great, think that Shirley and I will both need to order it, but that is fine. Sarah x
No rush, I’m retreading The Unbearable Lightness of Being anyway, so I’ll wait to start All the Light xx
I didn't know we had Tom, but very happy you have joined (Sarah has a moderator complex 😏). Hope you're ok, would be good to hear from you x
He tried to say:Hello everyone. Just worked out how to navigate the site! I'm going to leave my thoughts on 'Munich' shortly. Currently reading Ollie the Elephant!
Great Helen, just to let you know I have sent Tom the book, 'All The Light We Cannot See', via Amazon, so hopefully he will read it at the same time as us. Hope you enjoy, 'Oliie The Elephant' Helen xxx
Hi Everybody, Sarah here, hope you are all enjoying your reading. Got some suggestions for the next two books, Paul and Helen, wondering what you think? Myself, Tom and Shirley all have (or will have soon), copies of Black Water Lilies by Michel Bussi, and Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess. Should these be our next two books, or do you have any suggestions? Look forward to hearing what you all think.x
Hi Everybody,Just to let you know that I have added the 'Five People You Would Meet in Heaven' to our list. Hope this is ok x
Hi all, sorry I've been rubbish! Still need to do my reviews of the Minituarist and All the light. I have The Five People so will start on that when I've finished my current book. I'll order the other 2 today.
Thanks for the message Helen, don't worry too much, write them at your own leisure. I am finding 'All The Light' quite hard to get into, I know I will return to it at some point. Thanks for getting the other books. Sarah x
Hello everyone. My son has posted me a book that he thinks I'll love. It's called Flowers for Algernon by Daniel Keyes, published in 1966. If anyone else fancies reading it we could put it on the list!
Hi Helen, I read that about six months ago, funnily enough. It’s an interesting one, classic science fiction full of moral questions. Great put it up!
I'm so enjoying reading again! I'm never without a book now . I know I have some to catch up with on the list, just started Underground Railroad (thanks Sue), which is not on the list. Can I suggest another title for in a little while? Slaughterhouse - Five by Kurt Vonnegut. Read it a couple of years ago so it's on my shelf. Would love to revisit it and see what you all think.
I read Slaughter House 5 a couple of years ago too Helen, think we read it at around the same time. Excellent book.
I agree, it’s so good having the time to read again.
