I just started the book, and read 2 chapters...
kinda feels like skullsworn(which I didn't like at all) but the writing is much better, and has interesting options (view spoiler)[I have always been obsessed with shadows :D (hide spoiler)]

I read it about a month ago, but I'll gladly chat with you as you go on :)) It actually took me a while (hundred pages or so) to get into the writing. It starts slow, but it'll pick up.

I was thinking about reading it too, but I am swamped! I hope I can make it in couple of days...

I can't wait to hear everyone's thoughts on it and I hope you can make time to read it Choko!

The prose is what first pulled me back the first time I tried to read it, now I can appreciate it

i just finished the 4th chapter and I know I'm doing a slow reading but I had some unexpected exams and got myself too busy with the on going buddy reads...

I really like the writings, its so strange, I love cats, it really helps :)))
I really like to know how all these things happened to her and how everyone gets their power...
gonna try to read some chaoters today!

I just finished chapter 6!!!!
I like Mia's backstory more than her present story, I don't even know why but I read those parts with more interest...
I don't know what to feel about Tric, I really need to know him better and there isn't enough to read about him.

That's exactly how I felt with the flashbacks when I read it! The beginning is definitely very slow.

Yeah, I don't have a huge opinion of Tric but his character does grow and develop further as the story progresses.

good to know cuz every time I can't connect to a main character, I can't care enough for the book to finish it!!!
but I like the story and the foot notes, I really enjoy them, even though it's a pain in the a** cuz I'm reading the Ebook and its hard to find them and then find where I was left, but they have a good humor and interesting facts about both Mia and the world she is living in!!!!

That's one of my biggest complaints about the first book - we needed more flashbacks, in order to care more about Mia and her revenge.

With revenge stories, at least for me personally, I need to be really invested in a character's life in order to care. Here, Mia (or, the narrator) just tells us what happened and we're expected to care. I needed more information about her parents and brother, more about her life with them and how her life looked before it fell apart. Since I didn't get enough of that, I didn't really care about her revenge all that much. I was more interested in the world around her :))

It's interesting that you like the footnotes, I don't mind them and they're humorous at times but it's a huge complain from most people. I quite like the overall narration though, like the overall tone of it and everything.

I finished the first part, chapter 9, and I love it so muuuuuch!!!!
I love all the shahiids they are sooooo cool!!!!
and yes yes cats have their own language of course :))))
I should make time to read this faster, I really want to know how the story is going to be now that she reached the red church...

Glad you're enjoying it! Everything definitely picks up and becomes more interesting when they reach the Red Church. The world-building is awesomely written, in my opinion :)
