Jacob (jacobaugust) | 67 comments So apparently The Last Samurai is a really good book, and I'm surprised that no one else has started a discussion on it. Anyone up for a group read, or should we all just rush out and devour it on our own?

message 2: by Luke (new)

Luke (korrick) I'd be up for it. Too many false starts in 2014 means it needs a place in 2015.

I'd like to read it, too.

I still need to organize my upcoming reads: I need to make a calendar to keep track of what I've agreed to!

What kind of timeframe works for you two, J. and A.?

message 4: by Jacob (new)

Jacob (jacobaugust) | 67 comments Not sure, need to make a calendar for the ones I'm reading too. Martha Quest & Pilgrimage 1 (and maybe The Bell Jar) in January, Wide Sargasso Sea and Parable of the Sower in early February, The Years in March? Either squeeze it in sometime then, or wait til April/May, I can't recall anything I've agreed to then, yet...

But remember you will then have the subsequent books in CoV and Pilgrimage! The scheduling gets tricky.

message 6: by Kris (new)

Kris (krisrabberman) I'm up for it -- I was going to start it next week, but I can delay it -- especially since I'm trying to finish some other big books next week.

So I should read it now/next week with Kris, is what you're saying.

I'd be down with that.

Hah, or else wait till Kris decides to pick it up again if she's delaying reading for the group!

But in all seriousness, when seems to work for most for TLS? April/May, as Jacob suggested?

message 10: by Kris (new)

Kris (krisrabberman) I can delay until April.

message 11: by Jacob (new)

Jacob (jacobaugust) | 67 comments So...April then?

William Mego (willmego) | 30 comments Aha, I was wondering about this one, I'm in.

message 14: by Cynthia (new)

Cynthia Dunn I'd like to join in April.

Bloodorange (pani_od_angielskiego) | 618 comments I will try to join, at least read along, if not participate in the discussion - April is quite hectic for me.

message 16: by Jacob (new)

Jacob (jacobaugust) | 67 comments Now that we're closer to the date, does April still work for most people? Anyone want to suggest another time? I don't have any big upcoming commitments, so anything works for me.

message 17: by Cynthia (new)

Cynthia Dunn April is fine.
