2015: The Year of Reading Women discussion

So apparently The Last Samurai is a really good book, and I'm surprised that no one else has started a discussion on it. Anyone up for a group read, or should we all just rush out and devour it on our own?

I'd be up for it. Too many false starts in 2014 means it needs a place in 2015.

I'd like to read it, too.

I still need to organize my upcoming reads: I need to make a calendar to keep track of what I've agreed to!

What kind of timeframe works for you two, J. and A.?

Not sure, need to make a calendar for the ones I'm reading too. Martha Quest & Pilgrimage 1 (and maybe The Bell Jar) in January, Wide Sargasso Sea and Parable of the Sower in early February, The Years in March? Either squeeze it in sometime then, or wait til April/May, I can't recall anything I've agreed to then, yet...

But remember you will then have the subsequent books in CoV and Pilgrimage! The scheduling gets tricky.

I'm up for it -- I was going to start it next week, but I can delay it -- especially since I'm trying to finish some other big books next week.

I will try to join, at least read along, if not participate in the discussion - April is quite hectic for me.

Now that we're closer to the date, does April still work for most people? Anyone want to suggest another time? I don't have any big upcoming commitments, so anything works for me.
