my guess is "Remainder"

This seems like one that will come down to the personal taste of whoever is judging. I haven't read either but I'm guessing The Shadow Catcher will advance.

I cheated and read the judge's bio for this round: he's a linguistics professor at Penn. So, based solely on my own stereotype of linguistics students, I'll say that Remainder advances.

Whoops. I forgot to get in my pick before the round was decided. I would have gone with The Shadow Catcher because I've read it and liked it quite a bit. The first half was much more compelling than the second half by far.

Wow, I couldn't have been more wrong! Liberman hated it.
