It was kind of like Fahrenheit 451, boy is poor and has to scavenge to survive I believe. Everyone wears some sort of head gear to read or view tv but it makes them super stupid and he is able to out smart them because he does not use the headset. I am not sure that he doesn’t use the headset because he can’t afford it or because at some point he had a dad that told him it was bad. He ends up running from a gang and meets a runaway girl who turns out lives in the well of area. I believe it takes place in the future that’s why he is secluded from where the girl lives, I think there was some kind of war and the fall out is outside of the city which is where he lives.

Last book In The universe, I didn’t enjoy reading until around high school and so much was going on that most of the books I read back then are lost in a memory haze. Thank you so much for your help
