What is everyone reading this week? Are you liking it so far? Would you recommend it?

I'm rolling along quite nicely at the moment with my reading. I finished my reread of The Silmarillion last week and have now picked up Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. A friend recommended Trick by Natalia Jaster so that's been my night book.

I've also been watching random shows as I work from home (I've been doing some data entry tasks and the background noise helps me concentrate) and I started BBC's Sherlock. That of course put me in the mood for Sherlock Holmes so I started on those stories. Has that ever happened to you?

Tell us about your current reads!

The Silmarillion by J.R.R. Tolkien Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (Harry Potter, #4) by J.K. Rowling Trick (Foolish Kingdoms, #1) by Natalia Jaster The Complete Sherlock Holmes, Volume I by Arthur Conan Doyle

Ann (ann-fracturedfiction) | 516 comments I just finished What We Talk About When We Talk About Books, and am currently reading Golden in Death by J.D.Robb on my phone (reading it with the Libby app). The books book was interesting, I loved that there were 52 libraries opened in the London Underground during the Blitz. I also like the idea of a reading club: you get together somewhere and just read together.
I had PBS on the other day for background noise, and they were showing Gene- all about genetics, the past, the future, the opportunities. Now I'll have to try and catch more, or at least finish the episode.

I am currently reading Fall of Giants by Ken Follett. I just finished "Burn" by James Patterson. As for TV watching, I have recently started watching the ABC Comedy "Bless this Mess." Absolutely hysterical, I have enjoyed every minute of it.

Ingrid Hurst (bookrdr) | 285 comments I just started reading The Club thinking I got a hot romance book, but it turns out it’s about a boxing club. 😂

Elizabeth Thorlton | 24 comments I just finished Hangsaman by Shirley Jackson. It was great, and teetered just on that line of quirky and alarming that signifies young adult life. It was a different sort of story, but I enjoyed it.

I haven’t gotten any farther in Rabbit, Run. Since I’m reading it in a paperback and not an ebook, it’s hard to find a time to read it where my kid isn’t trying to rip the pages out.

Also started East of Eden. A friend wanted to start a book club with this as the first read and I jumped at the chance.

Arlice M | 113 comments I just finished The Alice Network. It was a good book and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys a historical fiction, with the characters being strong women.

I am almost finished with OtherLife by Jason Segel and The Other People by C J Tudor.

Zachary | 47 comments Not many books finished by me this week. I did finish a Rachel Maddow biography and Harlan Coben's newest, The Boy from the Woods. I learned some impressive things about Maddow, who was the first openly gay Rhodes scholar--though she takes note that she faced less stigma than those who may have come before her. I also enjoyed the new Coben. Five stars all around.
