Mia l Vazquez | 4 comments Hey, i just finished reading all the Grishaverse books and wondering if anyone had any recommendations of great books. I really enjoyed the romantic relationships and I'm not into anything too cheesy or sappy but I love the action and fantasy, any recommendations???

message 2: by Morgan (new)

Morgan Schmidt Try the Lunar Chronicle books! They have romantic relationships that aren’t too cheesy, a TON of action and adventure, and a cool type of magic. I would definitely recommend them.

Mia l Vazquez | 4 comments Omg, so many people recommended the series to me and told me i had to read Cinder, thanks I appreciate it.

message 4: by Mia l (new)

Mia l Vazquez | 4 comments Would you guys recommend "The Selection" by Kiera Cass?

message 5: by Rosie (new)

Rosie Henry | 2 comments Mistborn is pretty long, but I’ve heard great things about it!

message 6: by Mina (new)

Mina (mina0308) | 2 comments I didn‘t like Selection at all...I always wanted to get rid of the main character, because she acted so incredibly stupid 😅😂

But I absolutely adored the ACOTAR series by Sarah J Maas 😍

message 7: by Elisa (new)

Elisa (elisabookishexpat) I didn’t like The Selection, only read the first book. The MC is incredibly annoying IMO, and I don’t like the whole setup of girls competing with each other.
I’d recommend Wicked Saints, which has similar vibes to the Grisha trilogy but it’s a bit moodier.

And I’d really recommend Daughter of Smoke and Bone (first in a trilogy), which has a similar level of action and the war between races and cultures theme. Also, I love the MC!

Emily | 4 comments I would recommend The Elemental Trilogy by Sherry Thomas. I don't know why I don't hear more about this series. For me it is a great adventure/war series with a great love interest/partnership that develops. While there are important and necessary secondary characters, it is really about the duo Iolanthe and Titus up against this seemingly insurmountable power. Like if Harry and Hermione are 17 for the entire series, are in love, and the two of them work tirelessly together as a powerful, magical team to take down Voldemort. (At least once they get past a little love/hate in the beginning)

message 9: by Stacia (new)

Stacia | 1 comments You might like Megan Whalen Turner's Queen's Thief series. Don't let the first book deceive you - it gets very puzzle-y, very political, if that aspect interests you.

Delaney 🏳️‍🌈 (bibookworm) | 1 comments Ace of shades! Perfect for six of crows fans

message 11: by Lydia (new)

Lydia (thefictionfeature) | 1 comments I agree with the Elemental Trilogy. I read it really quickly and it was so good. Seriously can’t believe that it isn’t that popular.

Nilun (BooktasticNerd) (booktasticnerd) | 13 comments It's science fiction not fantasy but The Illluminae Files is amazing. I highly recommend the audio books if you like audiobooks.

message 13: by hinaluvsbooks (new)

hinaluvsbooks (itshannahbooks) | 1 comments Hey, I am reading the Shadow and Bone trilogy now, but would you guys recommend Six of Crows once I have have finished the trilogy?

message 14: by Mina (new)

Mina (mina0308) | 2 comments Yes, yes, yes!!! 🎉🥳 six of crows and crooked kingdom are two of my absolute favourites 😍

message 15: by Mia l (new)

Mia l Vazquez | 4 comments If you liked the Shadow and Bone trilogy then I definitely recommend the Six of crows duology. I believe the duology was much better than the trilogy so if you didn't like the shadow and Bone trilogy that much, Six of crows is much different and much better !!!!!

message 16: by Emily (new)

Emily | 4 comments Leigh Bardugo takes her craft to the next level with Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom. Crooked Kingdom is one of my favorite books of all time. The characters are amazing. It’s a must read for anyone that enjoys the Grishaverse.

message 17: by Samyra (new)

Samyra Holly Black and Leigh Bardugo are fans of each other's works, I've heard! Check her books out.
The Cruel Prince

message 18: by fadyaa (new)

fadyaa | 2 comments I m late ups. Apropos selection, I recommend selection if you are around 13 or if you are in the „y/a book exploring“. I read selection when I was 13 and I was my first „adult book“ back then. Couple months ago I re-read it and it was totally boring... But nevermind it’s a beautiful Story and if you wanna fall in love than read it.

message 19: by caitlin (new)

caitlin (sunkissedroses) | 3 comments I would definitely recommend Children of Blood and Bone. It’s an amazing book and the second books is wonderful too! It’s got a similar vibe with magic and different types of it and it’s just downright amazing!

message 20: by Emmeline (new)

Emmeline wheeler | 5 comments I would totally recommend The Infernal Devices and The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare. They are really good there is romance, demons, and swords. All you need in a good book in my opinion!

a frog in a crown (ya-antagonist) | 51 comments Maybe The Raven Cycle? Lots of people who read SoC also like TRC

message 22: by ai lee (new)

ai lee (aileeivy) I’ve heard people say the gentleman bastards series is like six of crows but more adult? I also like the shades of magic series.

ali (leighali) | 3 comments a frog in a crown wrote: "Maybe The Raven Cycle? Lots of people who read SoC also like TRC"

I agree, I read TRC after SOC and it completely exceeded my expectations.

message 24: by Reagan (new)

Reagan (reaganbem) | 25 comments Hello ! Does anyone have a book recommendation that is fantasy and LGBTQ+?

message 25: by Vale (new)

Vale | 1 comments Carry on is amazing

message 26: by ali (new)

ali (leighali) | 3 comments Magnus Chase is good, but it is for Juniors. Mortal Instruments may also be a considerable choice.

message 29: by CharlyB (new)

CharlyB | 2 comments Blood heir by Amelie wen Zhao, is good after reading shadow and bone trilogy, it has an intricate magical concept and the interaction between the characters is just... I have no words.

Ele (notorious_ele) | 33 comments CharlyB wrote: "Blood heir by Amelie wen Zhao, is good after reading shadow and bone trilogy, it has an intricate magical concept and the interaction between the characters is just... I have no words."

I was going to recommend this as well! I think they both have a lot in common while still being wholly original. The world building was absolutely FANTASTIC.

message 31: by Ele (new)

Ele (notorious_ele) | 33 comments I would also recommend We Hunt the Flame which has great world building, a large group of lovable characters, exciting adventure, and superb banter. Shadow of the Fox is also pretty good.

message 32: by Samantha (new)

Samantha | 2 comments I highly recommend A Darker Shade of Magic! It has great world-building and character dynamics.

message 33: by Lulu (new)

Lulu (sidsnirrim) the midnight lie !!

bookworm.chronicles88 | 2 comments Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard

message 35: by Lydrose (new)

Lydrose | 17 comments Definitely recommend Ace of Shades which is similar to Six of crows. It has a lot of gangs and a little bit of love but mostly about the gangs problems with money and other interesting things. Ace of Shades is the first book in the whole series (The Shadow Game). I highly recommend.

Jimena | 2 comments acotar seriessssss

✨aesthetique✨ Caraval by Stephanie Garber. So atmospheric and fun!

message 39: by Natalie (new)

Natalie | 4 comments Carve The Mark by Veronica Roth is amazing.

message 40: by jas (new)

jas | 44 comments Master Of One - I'm halfway through but I'm loving it!

message 41: by Rodia (new)

Rodia | 7 comments A frog in a crown said that but I also think that the Raven cycle is perfect for soc fans. Adventure, characters you can identify with (love Ronan Lynch) and the most important found family trope.
