Alice-Elizabeth (marriedtobooks)
Hi Alice!
Lovely to hear from you and I am glad you're okay and reading plenty! That usually means not too much is amiss!
I haven't been reading much, but I have finished listening to Queen of Nothing by Holly Black and really enjoyed it. It was a satisfying end to the series.
My next read is TruthWitch by Susan Dennard.

Hi Lou! Lovely to hear from you too. I've been reading outside with my cat quite a lot in the back garden. I have Truthwitch on my TBR, however, I'm still trying to track down a copy of one of the later books in the series before I start reading it. I'm the awkward person who wants to wait until I have access to an entire series before I start reading it haha.
I know what you mean - I am hoping to get a copy of Bloodwitch very soon from a publishing contact. I have Windwitch already. :)
B&NES wrote: "What books have you been reviewing Alice?"I had two ARC copies of Wicked Fox by Kat Cho which I literally just finished this afternoon. I also have a ton of 2020 YA titles and one 2021 YA title on NetGalley, it's a really long list but I'll include it:
To Sleep In The Sea Of Stars
When You Get The Chance
Mayhem
More Than Maybe
The Mall
Where Dreams Descend
Lobizona
:)
That is a good list! I actually miss commuting for my designated reading time!
Which has been your favourite?

Lobizona since that was the one I felt the most excited for!

B&NES wrote: "As it's just us - i think - tell me about it :)"Sorry for the late reply- just had family dinner!
Here's what I typed on my blog regarding my first thoughts of Lobizona.
This is a YA read heavily inspired by Argentinian folklore about a girl living in the US as an undocumented immigrant until the moment where she lives is raided and her family attacked. This girl called Manu then tries to investigate more about her dead father’s past since he was heavily involved criminally. This latinx read looks very promising indeed!

Eeee Hi Kyra! Lovely to see you :)
No worries - this sounds really good. Great to see more latinx stories being written and published.

However one of my other ARCs When You Get The Chance (YA LGBT road trip kinda novel) was pushed back to 2021, so I still need to see if the publishers are OK with me posting my review within the next few weeks or not. :)
It's interesting seeing how the current situation is affecting the publishing industry and how book tours etc. have changed.

It's called Dangerous Remedy. The author was really upset about it, however, if the release went ahead now, it most likely would be forgotten about. I was lucky to get a physical ARC of Dangerous Remedy just before the lockdown happened. I am expecting a parcel from Scholastic tomorrow since I ended up ordering some new YA releases from them XD

That's really great!
I am signing off as it's 6pm! That hour flew by!
Stay chatting without me and don't forget to check your emails - i think a WhatsApp group might be easier for everyone.

It's YA Reads member Alice here. I hope that you are all safe and well and that your reading is going strong. I haven't gotten around to reading this month's book yet since I have lots of review copies from publishers on the go. I finished Wicked Fox by Kat Cho today which I loved!
About to start reading:
Bunny (adult fiction book from a publisher)
Eragon
Truly Devious by Maureen Johnson
Would Like To Meet by Rachel Winters (adult fiction book from a publisher)
:)
