Tanya (xallroyx21) | 55 comments I'll be re-reading Pride and Prejudice with my class, but I am only counting new reads for challenges. I have never read Emma, so I will choose it. I saw the movie with Gwyneth Paltrow a long time ago.

Busy | 65 comments Clueless was based on this :)

Jessica (jollybookshelf) Really, Stephanie? I had no idea!

Cait (clickcait) | 480 comments I knew that there was a modern adaptation of it and I suspected it was Clueless, but I couldn't remember for certain. I used to love that film as a young teenager!

Emma is my week one book. :-)

Kate (kmersiov) Clueless, really? Huh! Once I'm done reading this book for this week as well, I'll have to re-watch the movie and see if I can make the connections.

Saara (lamiena) | 32 comments Once you know, it's pretty easy to spot. :)

Cait (clickcait) | 480 comments Yeah I've been reading it today and although it's been quite a while since I last saw Clueless but I'm definitely reminded of it.

Tricia (drakmom) | 17 comments I'm reading Emma as well. It's one of Jane Austen's that I haven't read yet.

Tanya (xallroyx21) | 55 comments I'm going to have to put this one off until later. I started it two nights ago and I do not think I have the time for it. I'm going to read a YA romance now so I can stay on track!

Kate (kmersiov) I'm around chapter 15, and so far my favorite character is definitely Emma's father - he is just cracking me up, with his love of gruel and hypochondria. I may or may not know a few people like this in real life. :)

Chelle | 15 comments I did Emma as well for this topic! I had forgotten that Clueless is based on this novel until I was partway through, but once I remembered I couldn't stop comparing them! Clueless is one of those movies that I watch over and over again, for whatever reason. I really enjoyed reading this though, I found Emma to be a really relatable character. Hope everyone enjoys! :)

Busy | 65 comments 3/4 of the way through! The audiobook really makes it come alive, a little too well. Mrs. Elton is wholly fleshed out and annoying to no end with her Maple Grove superiority, Emma is delightful, and Mr. Knightley is great too.

Cait (clickcait) | 480 comments Kate, I read this for my Week 1 book and I loved Emma's father too. He was brilliant and kind of reminded me of someone I know. It's funny to think that all these years later there are still people like that in the world!

Tricia (drakmom) | 17 comments I listened to the audiobook and just finished it this morning. I really enjoyed listening to it vs. reading it. Time to move on to the next book! I'm really loving this challenge.

Jody (jodybell) | 531 comments This is my Week 2 book too - I've been jumping around a little and had a slow start to the year, so I'm reading this now. I'm really enjoying it, although Emma's father is a total PITA! One of those characters I guess I'll have to love to hate. :)

Marah (eyreo) I haven't read Emma yet. It looks promising though. The movie with Gwyneth Paltrow wasn't my favorite, but hopefully the book is a lot better!
